  1. Everyday. I have short hair, so it doesn't take long time for me to wash out.
  2. I hear the same, most people say snowboarding is easier to start. But if you have never experienced both yet, you had better try both then decide which to choose. Good luck.
  3. Now I'm observing if I needed to play with my snowblower or not.
  4. Yep, 1 beer. But sometimes I eat a lot, so it's not cheap
  5. No hanami yet here, still snowing brrrrrr. Quote: How silly. But it was planned and so no way it could be changed. I think because hanami is more like for drinking rather than enjoying cherry blossoms. Drunkers could drink some anywhere anytime and they don't want to postpone it!
  6. No, I can't Bushpig. A 500ml beer can easily knock me. Both of my parents used to be "zaru" though. My face look very red when I have a tiny bit of alcohol, this is what they say lacking of enzyme to dissolve alcohol. I think you often find a lot Japanese people have red faces when they drink alcohol. I don't think that is a number 1 condition, otherwise I can not join there!

  8. Not sure about tabasco, but if you touch any fresh red pepper when you use any on cooking something, NEVER FAIL TO wash your hands with soap before you go to pee!! It makes your clock http://www.snowjapanforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/8/5567.html? on fire if you don't!! Be careful!
  9. Back from the dentist! Quote: Originally posted by -20.7: Teeth shaving machine! Great! I think you might mean "drill" there gamera. Ahhh does "drill" work for it? Didn't know that, thanks for the eigo lesson. Hum... have never seen that flat screen thing yet. Does it calm your pain when you watch the screen while the "drill" is at work?
  10. Now I see a dentist. Yesterday he pulled one of my tooth out coz he said no other choice. Actually he had tried to repair it but finally decided to pull it out. When I see a doctor, usually I try to endure any pain chewing hard. When I got injured my index finger by my snowblower some years back, the doctor stiched it 5 and i chewed my upper teeth and lower teeth hard to endure the pain coz anesthesia didn't work. But if it's dentist....... I can't do that! And I really don't like the noise the teeth shaving machine make!! How does everyone endure the pain when you see a dentis
  11. Yeah merryJim, too bad. When I go to ski, there's some qualification required. #1 No guests - sometimes I go to ski with my guests though. #2 Snowfall at the previous night - new powder! #3 Sunny and fine - don't like blizzard. #4 Max temperture supposed to be zero C or colder.- no slashy snow needed. #5 No need to remove snow - when I need to do, i need to do So, there are not so many chances in a season when I find all the qualification above. Maybe I can try more often just for 1-2 hours ride, but I think I like to ride longer and very lazy to prepare for the sh
  12. Japan is an alcohol loving country? Coz alcohol vending machines here and there? I personally don't think it's professional if someone smells alcohol at work. Can they work hard when they drink some? I can't maybe because I can not drink much.
  13. Are those damaged houses empty ones? Damaged houses here are often empty houses. But when I think of the crazy heavy snow at the begining of this season, any houses could be damaged if they didn't remove snow good. And actually people didn't enough time to do that. However hard we tried to remove snow, it kept falling. I could not help doing that some times even at night in the dark which is very dangerous.
  14. I don't think I will go to the top. Too scary for an acrophobia person.
  15. Plucky, here's an interesting issue I just got from my e-pal. ******************************************** An English man got in a cafeteria in Germany. He orderd a cup of coffee. A waiter served a cup of coffee for the gentleman and asked " how much cube sugar do you need, sir?" The English gentleman replied " Nein (None in German) " The waiter put 9 ( Nine ) cube sugar in the cup. The English gentleman lost words. ********************************************* Be careful!
  16. BOC, that switch is what we call "Sankan Shion" which is like "3 cold days and 4 warm days ( in a week)" at this time of the year. That's how it gets warmer and warmer.
  17. 2 for downhill skiing, 1 for crosscountry skiing. That's all what I have done this season
  18. Ah, muikabochi I imagined much smaller one. Maybe there's some spring water canels around?
  19. I hear Himaraya also causes. Usually at this latitude, a lot of places are most likely desert or steppe. But Himaraya keeps providing moist and cold air and the windblow brings it to Japan direction.
  20. Quote: Originally posted by Lyndon: hey guys! I'm planning to go to Hakuba for next season, but i've never been before, whats the place like? -It's a deep mountain in a countryside, but there are some shops here and there, so not that inconvenient. As to ski slopes, let's say there are many and each and every one is unique. You can refer this thread below. Bushpig put a nice pic there. http://www.snowjapanforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/6527.html? 21. Defo stop them. They should learn how far birds need to fly to come to and leave Japan. When I think of it, I don't think someone can do anything like that. Distance birds need to fly to move (one way). swallows - 3,000kms ducks - 3,000kms Arctic Tern - 16,000kms Arctic Terns move between north pole and south pole, so that they can get enough sunchine in summer to breed at both location.(June-July at north pole, January-February in south pole ) I don't think I can walk all the way that far. I wonder why they just cant keep their eyes on them not doing that. I
