  1. Was reading that china have sent their army to the border of NK. They believe its all posturing as per usual, but think that the regime is about to fall from within (hence the extra posturing trying to keep control of the people). And when it does they expect millions of refugees to try and cross the border.
  2. My girlfriend is vegitarian and a strict one where her belief is that she won't eat anything that can feel pain, so this means no meat, no fish. She will have dairy and eggs. One form of meat is oysters that she could possibly eat. Travelling through Japan was particularly hard as most chefs understand this but will still use fish stock or dashi flakes on tofu as they don't see this as meat. Even basic miso has a fish stock base. Some friends of mine are Vego as well and lived in Japan for a few years and just came to accept that they would have to have some form of minor fish additiv
  3. pescetarian is someone who basically vegetarian but will eat fish.
  4. It's defineatly not traditional, but I can see that it works to really break down the barrier that most people have when fully embracing the fall line of the hill. You can really see that most people will instinctively avoid facing strait down the mountain when pole planting, where as your style has the skier really embracing the mountain and letting the skis work rather than fighting the hill looking the that next turn.
  5. Hey Mike, I'm really interested as to what benifit you see in teaching people to ski with their arms spaced quite wide. It's just a different look to a lot of other teaching styles.
  6. If you're talking about large planes, then probably not, if you're talking 5-20 seater planes, ten yes. Think about how a small 1.6L engine car goes when you add a Devon or third person when labouring up a hill. PS, I used to work with Boeing and airbus on weight reduction program's where they were trying to shave 40-50kgs from the wings. This weight saving over the life of the plane would have an estimated saving for the airline of somewhere between $100-250k USD.
  7. Iwatake, tsugaike and hakuba cortina were new for me this year.
  8. What they were all looking at... http://youtube.com/watch?v=pDrRnJOCKZc
  9. Oh not denying its still a tough call, just noting that $30k was silly cheap.
  10. If they could have printed it as a whole piece, that would have been interesting.
  11. Did you note the sale of apartments at falls creek a year or two back, they were selling them from $30k!!! Silly cheap prices.
  12. They believe that the plain "drab olive green" packaging with the horrid pictures will reduce the smoking uptake within teens by 10-15%. I've got to admit that the packaging doesn't make you want to put anything from those boxes near your mouth. On the topic of ducking ropes, possibly photos of people who got into trouble skiing out of bounds would actually put people off skiing all together...
  13. It's way warmer this year compared to historical data from the last 100 years. 1-2 degrees...
  14. I wish "LOL" and "YOLO" were not invented, people who use this kind of language whilst actually talking sh*t me to tears.
  15. The agents are assuming that Aussies are used to paying high prices. I know I wouldn't pay that much in a fit considering you can pick up a whole lodge which sleeps 50+ people in Hakuba for ~$400k (see the lab, liquid tours).
  16. Nerys is looking more and more relaxed. So much improvement since she first started her visits.
  17. Hey David, wasn't thinking like that. its all good, just a shame it couldn't be used. I posted a report anyway as I had a heap of fun out on the Japow. Thanks again for running a top notch web site. A
  18. If I could claim tax back for skiing, I would drop about 2-3 tax brackets...
