  1. I don't read that much but still on books. I'm kind of tempted to buy a machine though.
  2. Here here! I'd actually like to live MORE in the countryside, in a bit of a village here. How are people coping with the aircons being turned up to 'warm'?
  3. A very good balanced account of the whole thing. Glad to see you got feedback from lots of different places too, always interesting to hear what other people experienced.
  4. It really came down last night. And this morning too, hey.
  5. Good weekday day-out to Niigata, though. My work usually give me it off as well. Get to go to one of my fave restaurants up there. Thing that gets me is the way you need to go from the immigration office and into the airport to the shop to buy the 'stamp'. Why don't they sell you them in the office? Seems a bit crazy when everyone there will need to go and buy them.
  6. If people couldn't have guns, or didn't want guns, movies and tv shows certainly wouldn't be as interesting.
  7. Really? Changed name? I'll have to check. Will always be Jusco to me
  8. I think it is monthly... compared with before the campaign (or this time last year? not sure on that detail)
  9. Nice and cool this evening after a fairly warm day.
  10. My city, Tokamachi, has announced a new scheme.... if we save over 15% on electiricty, we get 1000 yen Ecopoint vouchers. Looks like they will run it until October. Interesting one that.

  12. I was getting used to no earthquakes, such a big one all of a sudden again is a bit of a shock. But ok I suppose. Just stop now please.
  13. Strong earthquake in Chuetsu Niigata once again about an hour ago. Strongest here in Tokamachi, shindo 5 strong. Scary. Looks like it is pretty much the same place as the ones in the last few months starting March 12th, so perhaps it can be called an aftershock.

  15. Going from Tokyo norcal? I would get Nozawa as it is fairly close and I could certainly get use out of it. But again I prefer to vary it up a bit.
  16. Haven't felt one from over in Tohoku for quite a long time now. We are far away though. Still having the odd shake every now and again as leftovers from our local March 12th one though.
