After the wintery conditions of yesterday, we are back to clearer conditions this morning in Shiga Kogen. The sun is out.

This morning seems to be the day when all the resorts suddenly decide to add a chunk of snow to their official snow depth numbers!

Snow is coming down nicely now here in the Marike area. It started early on and we just had a dusting overnight but has since got colder and it's really falling from the skies nicely now.

Perhaps somewhat unexpected snow to report this morning, but I'm pleased about that. 10cm or so since yesterday I'd say and more higher up I would think.

It is good to see snow back with us today. A few cm overnight and a few cm more on cars parked around areas as I was driving around earlier on.

Variable weather here in Shiga Kogen this morning.

The sun has been shining down on us so far today, something of a contrast to yesterday and good timing for the weekend.

According to my eyes, there has been at least 20-30cm of new snow fall since yesterday. Probably more on the mountain.

The snow clouds moved in later on in the day yesterday and this morning we have around 10cm of new snowfall around Shiga Kogen and the snow is falling now still. It is a cold, snowy and quite windy morning and is likely to continue with similar conditions throughout today.

The sun is out this morning as a steady stream of cars comes up from Yamanouchi to us here in Shiga Kogen. So a bright and sunny start to the day.

Not the chart-busting numbers I was hoping for this morning and nothing more than a thin new layer of snow really to report this morning.

A dusting of snowfall overnight as the rain turned into snow and it is snowing with more conviction now as I am writing this report and already a few cm of snow on the top of cars parked at the ski resorts.

Lovely day yesterday and got quite warm midday. It's even warmer this morning with temperatures above zero. +4 here in Maruike.

Just a fairly thin layer of new snow from yesterday but this morning it's blue skies over Shiga Kogen and while it's still below zero, it's not too far under and so quite a mild start to the day.
