Welcome back to Shiga Kogen Now

Tomorrow (Sunday 17th May) is the last day of the ski season at Yokoteyama, and therefore the last day of the ski season in Shiga Kogen. They did well to stay open until now.

Today is going to be the last day of operations for the Shibutoge pair lift.

From today just one lift at Yokoteyama (Number 4) and the Shibutoge lift will be operating.

Today is the last day of the season at Kumanoyu.

Well, there has been a sprinkling of snow!

Okushiga Kogen ski area plans to be open today, but today will be the last day of the season over there.

It's still windy this morning, but clearer and sunny.

I have to be early this morning but wanted to report on the strong blowing southerly winds that we have this morning.

As noted in an update to the last report, Sunday 26th April was the last day of the season for skiing at Ichinose Family.

Some parts of Shiga Kogen actually got some snow yesterday/last night and I can see a slight dusting.

Fine and sunny this morning and a warm day expected; but colder tomorrow.

Some of the still-open (or weekend only open) runs are starting to show a few bare patches.

The sun is out and following from yesterday we expect more bright and sunny weather today. At least until this afternoon.
