Fine and sunny this morning and a warm day expected; but colder tomorrow.
Takamagahara Mammoth ski area has announced that it won't be able to continue through the planned closing date of 6th May. Indeed, it won't be opening again this season, meaning that Sunday 19th April was the last day of the season.
It seems very possible that we will get more similar announcements from other ski areas, but none just yet. Varying levels, but things are getting a bit patchy in some of the places that remain open.
The section of the main Route 292 road connecting Shiga Kogen with Kusatsu in Gunma Prefecture opens this morning from 10am.
