Snow clouds have remain but there are already signs that it will ease off this morning and there might be clearer conditions.

Good morning from Nozawa. It's cold and snowy once again.

More snow. And another 30cm or so being reported by the resort on the top areas, taking the Yamabiko number close to 7m for the season.

Is it just me, or we didn't get either as much snow or strong winds as we were told might happen overnight?

Just a thin layer of snow around this morning and the same being reported from up top.

Just around 10cm or so snow since yesterday with light snow falling this morning and perhaps it might just ease off and leave us with cloudy skies.

There has now been over 6m of snowfall reported by the resort on the top Yamabiko area.

Since yesterday afternoon the resort is reporting 0-22cm of snow... one of those days when there's a real difference between base and up top.

2020 has been many things, but this winter season has got off to a snowy start this time round.

Another very pleasing amount of fresh snow since yesterday, with the larger part of it coming overnight, even though it was snowing yesterday.

Merry Christmas. As my Niseko colleague said this morning, it kind of feels different this year.

So the snow eased off during the day yesterday and we got to actually see some of the mountain! Since yesterday the ski area reports 7-8cm of snow on their upper Yamabiko and Uenotaira areas.

There's more snow to report. Not as much as there has been in the previous few days, but another 22-30cm is being reported on the top areas and a more modest amount down at base.
