After that blast of winter yesterday (resort reporting another 8-9am on mountain by mid afternoon), it is cloudy this morning with some limited visibility down low - better higher up - at the start of the day.

Hello from Nozawa. And back to white.

This morning the resort is reporting another 5cm on the upper areas of the mountain and adding that to what they reported yesterday, it's over 22cm up top.

There is some snow on the ground this morning - even down to base. The resort is reporting 15cm on the top areas.

There is a layer of fresh snow on the ground and the sun shining down on us. It is a cold and beautiful morning.

This morning the resort is reporting 10cm of fresh snow on the top Yamabiko and Uenotaira areas overnight.

What I can say is that there is a thin layer of snow on the ground down to base and the resort is reporting 2cm since yesterday at 3pm.

A good 10cm down at base since yesterday.

If my recording of the numbers yesterday evening was correct, the resort was reporting 10-32cm (base-top) of snowfall during the day yesterday and this morning there is another 10-22cm.

This morning the report is reporting 10-17cm of fresh snow.

I think we were expecting more snow than we got yesterday; it just didn't amount to much. I have just a little to add from after my report yesterday.

I am happy to be able to report that we have survived yesterdays weather (at least the top lifts got moving) and it is currently snowing.

No fresh snowfall being reported by the resort since yesterday, the light snow didn't really amount to much though I reckon there's probably a few out there.

The sight of fresh snow always does the trick.
