Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 415cm
Posted on Sunday 15th March 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.
It's snowing.
Sorry, I missed the update that the resort made yesterday afternoon so I cannot report any numbers they put out there.
What I can say is that there is a thin layer of snow on the ground down to base and the resort is reporting 2cm since yesterday at 3pm... they also added 10cm to the snow depth up top.
So yes it is snowing right now as I write this report, though the forecast doesn't seem to be telling us to expect snow during the day today.
Potentially we will have a period of heavy snow (yes, heavy snow!) in the daytime tomorrow. That should be very interesting.
