Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

I am happy to be able to report that we have survived yesterdays weather (at least the top lifts got moving) and it is currently snowing. (Phew).


Our friend Nasuki has some snow on their head as you can see below (kawaii!), and they have only been out there for a short while this morning.


So while the resort is not reporting any cm of snowfall in their update this morning, I can add some from base this morning. And fingers crossed if it snows through the day today, like the forecast says, I'll have some bigger numbers tomorrow.


Limited to poor visibility this morning,


For this long weekend (Monday is a national holiday), lifts plan to be open 30 minutes than usual through Monday.


Fresh snowfall recorded by resort since yesterday morning:

- Yamabiko (1407m): 0cm

- Uenotaira (1230m): 0cm

- Hikage (660m): 0cm

- Nagasaka (615m): 0cm

- Karasawa (563m): 0cm
