pie-eater 207
Anyone care to recommend any good theme parks here in Japan? By good I mean with lots of thrill rides, the thrillier the better. Cheers!
kintaro 0
Fuji-Q Highland is my favorite. It is in Shizuoka...it features, among other good rides, the Fujiyama roller coaster...once one of the best in the world. If you don't have a car, you can get there by bus from Shinjuku in about 2 hours (I think).
pon farr 0
It is still one of the best in the world. It was the tallest/fastest a number of years back I believe - but its an excellent coaster. Try Dodonpa at the same park, thats a blast.

97 0
I want to go NOW. I love theme park and now tall enough for most rides.
brit-gob 9
What are the queues like for Fujiyama and Dodonpa recently? Thinking of going on a weekday. Hate crowds.
nekobi 0
you MUST experience dodonpa- still the fasted roller coaster in the world i think. 0 to 107mph in 1.8seconds. you can literally feel the skin on your face being pulled back.
viv&kev 0
There's a coaster here in Yokohama that is part out in the water. Not a record breaker but fun all the same.
rach 1
I'm probably going to Alton Towers in the UK this summer (got a friend living near there). Haven't been for quite a long time, I wonder what its like now. Bit far from Japan, sorry!
big-will 7
Try the big coaster in central Tokyo - near Tokyo Dome. Here's a thread from a while back http://www.skijapanguide.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=000654#000000
IIIII 2
And that newer coaster in Cedar Park makes Dodonpa look like an aka-chan: http://www.skijapanguide.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=001314#000000
giggsy 0
rach I went last year and I thought it was looking a bit rough...nothing major, but the rides looked like they could of done with cleaning up and things like that. Nemisis is still a great ride. Air is decent, but it would have been better if it were more white-knuckle.
amandanism 0
im going to cedar point later this summer. i hear there is a coaster there thats g-force (or whatever) is so strong you can't put your arms up or you might dislocate your shoulders. or something to that extent. doesnt sound that appealing
rachael 0
Sounds great! Just remember not to put your arms up!
scouser 4
Alton Towers. Aaahh. My first "white knuckle" ride, the Corkscrew. I was petrified and spend the day avoiding it. then just before it closed I picked up the courage - and loved it. It's still there and creaking around, its a pretty rough ride now. Nemesis is an excellent ride, can't believe thats 10 years old now.
big-will 7
BLACKPOOL PLEASURE BEACH. Complete with CHIPS and KISS ME QUICK hat.

amandanism 0
great coaster - its cool that you are in the middle of a city riding the thing. the lines werent so bad...10 minute wait at most.
