Sure enough. Yuki's Passion 1 Posted July 23, 2004 Share Posted July 23, 2004 I had a school trip to the beach last weekend out in Kyoto - Kumihama was the name of the area. Pretty nice beach, nice sand, crystal blue water, and NO tetrapods!!! There was some squabble on about cleaning up beaches in Japan earlier in this thread I think. Besides my cowoker and myself, there was one other foreigner we saw, everybody else was Japanese. Day after day, everybody there left most all their trash on the beach!!! The most obvious F'in reason was there were no trash cans at the beach. Nothing for the Vending machines, for the bars, for people who BBQ, etc... I know other beaches dont have them as well. WTF? So, the first day we get there we do a beach cleaning for about the area we were "using" and get this, after we collect all the gomi, bags, empty beer cans, not to mention the 250,000 cig butts I picked up, inner tubes, baby dipers, empty bento containers, etc, we buried the trash in the sand behind us!!! Idiots seem to drop litter anywhere and everywhere and its really sad and makes me real angry. I hardly ever see that in Japan. So what makes beaches so different.
