Earthquake!!

It was pretty big. I felt earth tremor from the floor for five seconds before shaking. It was like Godzilla was walking to my apartment! So I could forecast big shaking was coming. It was weird...

Aaaaaaaa bikkuri shita!

I knew we'd have to have at least one shaker while my parents were still here to complete their Japan experience (they leave on the weekend). They did after all have the recent typhoon, too.

 

Yes, it was quite a big rattler.

A strong earthquake jolted Tokyo and other parts of the Kanto region late Wednesday, meteorological officials said.

 

The earthquake, which hit the capital and the Kanto region at about 11:40 p.m., registered a lower 5 on the 7-point Japanese scale in the Ibaraki Prefecture areas of Tsukuba and Sekijo, and in Miyashiro, Saitama Prefecture, officials said.

 

The intensity registered 4 in several wards of Tokyo, Meteorological Agency officials said. A reading of 4 on the Japanese scale was also registered in many parts of Kanto, including Tsuchiura, Toride, Ushiku, Mito, Soka, Narita, and Urayasu.
