sakebomb 0
Gettin a lot of snow today, but we got more rain so conditions here aren't great but improving every snowfall. Further north is the place to be! That security check is a little suspicious (opinion only) It left traces which apparently link to a different address not the one shown- according to my spy software. PS Glad to hear you are OK after your little adventure, take care!
LiquidX 0
Very wary of things like that, I wouldn't do it...

joshnii 2
I had some problems after doing something like this one. I would not do it again. I'll stick with the offline security/virus programs I have.
Thunderpants 0
joshnii If a website can hurt your computer, you have a problem. At least these sites informes you that they are messing with your system, if you ever visit some "darknet" sites you will be in great trouble if you don't correct those open doors. http://astalavista.box.sk/ go here to search for cracks AND A LOT OF TROUBLE ATB TP DISCLAMER GO at your own risk, don't blame me if you get in trouble, i do however, use this site often myself
rach 1
With a thing like that doing tons of tests on your computer and stuff, can't that do harm? cant it throw some files on your pc that cause problems?
Thunderpants 0
hmm, yes it could, if your browser allows websites to execute applications on your computer or you allow websites to download without you clicking "YES", you could harm your system.
joshnii 2
How are non-geeks like myself to know? That checking a browser check thing sure looks like it's doing a lot of stuff on my browser (therefore computer?). If I am a tech-head I might know about all this, but I'm not and I have no idea what it is or is not doing on my PC when I click on YES for that check to start..... So I'll stick to not doing these things.
Thunderpants 0
joshnii, guess you're right. people are trying all sorts of things to get acces to your computer, why not a "security site"? this one looks ok though. this link could help some http://search.microsoft.com/search/results.aspx?st=b&na=88&View=en-us&qu=ie+security or even better get firefox. joshnii 2
Not sure if you were being sarcastic there or not, but... How do we know that a site that we have never heard of before is a 'real' 'security site'?
Ocean11 0
Try googling the name of the site and see what comes up. Most of this sort of thing is cross referenced somewhere (reviewed) if it's safe and performs a useful function.

joshnii 2
fair enough thunderpants. But all this not knowing and having to research things in order to trust them etc - is it worth the bother? I think not...I'm not gonna be bothered anyway.
big-will 7
If websites can't do anything bad to us without our implicit instructions, why do we need to be worried and need the check in the first place? (Confused)
