BagOfCrisps 24
OK folks, next time you go skiing or snowboarding (at a resort that doesn't do the electic lift ticket checking machine system thingy), make a note of whether the lifties actually check your lift ticket. I'm curious to hear whether they do much or not after my own experience and that of friends.
Yuki's Passion 1
at Yokoteyama (Shiga) they do. I was doing laps on Dai 3 and Dai 2 and the same guy was there checking everytime. Until he saw my pass (you'd think he'd remember my outfit )he blocked me from getting on the lift.
bushpig 0
They mostly do at Mizuho in Shimane.
SirJibAlot 0
Last weekend at Iwappara, I forgot to put my pass back on my arm after lunch - nobody stopped me - not even once.
muikabochi 208
Yep the resorts around here generally don't seem to check much at all. I went to Kandatsu last year and was noticing this - no-one checked my ticket even once. I remember Iwappara not checking as well.
joshnii 2
Just thinking about that how many resorts in Japan use electronic tickets? Round here I can't think of any. But I know Nozawa and Shiga Kogen etc have it.
thursday 1
NISEKO. ALL MOUNTAIN PASS. All mountain, all day and night and the shuttle too should you need it. Marvellous. Means no one needs to check if you cheap bastards have bought a ticket or not.
journey_man 0
Teine and Kokusai check. Those electronic cards in Niseko offer a wonderful way of doing some cheap (free) skiing...
scouser 4
Not much checking going on at Ishiuchi today, though they did at some of the lifts.
XilR8 0
Hakuba Goryu uses electronic tickets
scouser 4
Do Kagura still not have electronic tickets?
bushpig 0
A little place I went to for a nighter on Saturday night here in Hiroshima had the electronic checker, so no staff.
scouser 4
They check your wickets at Ishiuchi I asked the guy where the Smorking Room was, but he didn't know.
bushpig 0
Must get a bit of shrinkage going on having to show them your wicket every time you get on the lift
Markie 0
That explains why I was thrown out of the lift queue a few times. Once I was bowled out and once I was given a lbw by the liftie. I was a bit pissed at the first one, but the second one was kimochi.
bushpig 0
did he stroke you through the covers?
thursday 1
I heard it was a short middle stump.
bushpig 0
maybe he pulled you through the covers!
bushpig 0
Although knowing Markie, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a tickle down leg side
Markie 0
Let's set the record straight. The liftie was a she not a he. Also, after that it was a trickle down leg side not tickle.
bushpig 0
I thought the umpire no-balled you...
thursday 1
so who won the toss up?
samurai 0
fwiw, a wicket is the metal triangle ring that traditional sticky tickets glued themselves too. Many people pride themselves in never cutting them off and seeing how many wicketed tickets they can stack on their zippers. wicket your ticket on your front zipper so it can whip your face like skiing through a thicket. bushpig 0
Actually Markie, I think you were thrown out because you were caught slashing outside off stump.
SKI 15
They don't check on every lift but going up on the ropeways at Mitsumata they always seem to check. I can't think of anywhere offhand in Niigata that has electronice. A fair few in Nagano.
