billings 0
Looking for some advice!! I'm an Aussie that has been skiing for about ten years now in Australia only and I have finally bought my own skis this year. I have bought Head Monster m77i 119/77/104 length 170. I have never skied in powder and was looking for some advice weather these skiing will be adequate for Niseko in Feb 07 when I have book my first trip to Japan. All advice will be much appreciated, weather you think I will need to hire some wider skis or not. Cheers DB
jgraves 0
10yrs of skiing doesn't mean anything if you've never skiied powder. You'll be struggling to adjust your style the first day or two no matter what skiis you're on. Fatter skiis will probably help you adjust quicker and have a lot more fun. billings 0
Thanks Tohoku Bum, Yes a bit worried about getting used to the new type of conditions, but bring it on i say!!!! More concerned if these skis will be great or just ok!! What size would you recommend
Yuki's Passion 1
>What size would you recommend minimum of 90 in the waist would be best. over 100 and you'll be floating like a porn star. You can rent some fat skis up there so dont worry about buying some new skis but def., def., def. try some fat skis out while youre eating all that Niseko gold
Ocean11 0
If you have a Monster Head, I suggest you find a big helmet to protect it from painful impact with trees. Sorry, I couldn't help it.

thursday 1
Haha, Head website: "The Monster i.M 77 is the ski for days which begin at 8:00 a.m. in powder snow that is skied out by 11:00 a.m. and hard and icy in the afternoon. " Skied out, some probably, but not icy in the afternoon. Looks like you can only use thse in the morning.

sunrise 0
Try 'em out and if you don't like them after some time to get used to them, rent...
Yuki's Passion 1
>119/77/104 length 170 how tall are you? pretty skinny and if youre taller than 170 you'd prolly have a better time on something longer/fatter. All rental places up there have fat skis. Try yours first, but try some fat skis as well. There's really no comparison.
keba 0
Don't do it!!! I also have 10 years on skis, but 1st time in deep powder was tricky. I ski on Elan 666's (similar dimensions) and I found them difficult in the deep. I rented fats (Seth Pistols) and had a much better time on them... leave the Heads at home, unless you will spend all your time on the groomers. Get longer skis for powder, too, maybe 190+. rach 1
I would not know how to advise you if you had a monster head like this one I just found on google. Sorry
Fattwins 0
too stiff and will dive in the really deep and flatish stuff. Too best enjoy 25 degree powder its better to get fat skis.
