soubriquet 0
Clear morning, followed by rain. Now turned to sleet. There will be snow in town come tomorrow.
thursday 1
this morning looks great. 90cm up top and the lifts are running. Can see a coupla people enjoying already.
Markie 0
Nice blue skies and sunshine over Habuka this morning and Happo is showing it has already been well riden on. In Kiroro, though, it's Oh-Yuki.
Kumapix 0
hey Markie, how's the trip from Sahoro to Furano? can you do it by train? I'm thinking of staying a few days extra in Hokkaido
Markie 0
Sahoro to Tomamu you can definitely do by train because the Tomamu lifts go right to the station. I also remember there was a shuttle bus to and from Sahoro resort and Tomamu as well but I don't know if that's still going. Furano is not that near a train station but they do have shuttle buses from the train station to Furano, so you will need shuttle-train-shuttle for a Sahoro Furano commute. However, I remember there was also a bus that does the whole Sahoro-Tomamu-Furano circuit. That's probably your best option for Furano. You could do the same for Tomamu but I suggested trains because of the ski-lifts-to-the-station thing. Try to actually stay at Tomamu and not just ski there if you want some good gastronomial delights and also try out their spa. Slow has been there too, maybe she can add some comments. thursday 1
Up north, it's magical. The crew are out grooming and Ace 3 and King 3 hooded is operating. But no nighters just yet.
soubriquet 0
OK. The soubicam is up and running. Here's the view from my bedroom window
soubriquet 0
Markie. Fallen asleep at the wheel have you? The soubicam can't see the mountains, which in sleepy downtown Oishida, means that it's snowing.
Markie 0
Apologies, soubriquet. Hectic week. Thanks for the nice pic though.
Markie 0
First time for me to see people (a lot of them) coming doing the slopes of Happo.
Markie 0
This morning, visibility is not very good. I hope that is because it's snowing. Nevertheless, you can see a nice big red "We're open" sign in Happo. Also there are lots of people on the lifts and slopes of Goryu.
slow 0
No worries, Markie. The weathernews has snowman almost everyday next week.

Which weathernews is that? I am looking at this one and it doesn't say that. Yahoo weather forecast
slow 0
Here you go, Markie. This makes changes every three hours, very accurate and reliable. The weather at Kagura yesterday was exactly right. http://weathernews.jp/ski/cgi/search_result.fcgi?id=34810
Markie 0
That's great slow. I prefer your weather forecast more than the yahoo one. Not only does it have more snow, the temperatures are also lower.
Markie 0
Well, it looks like another good day for the ants at Kiroro. I wonder when they will remove the barrier around the pond though. That pond must have filled in completely by now. In Habuba, the videocam at Happo has shifted it's position. Now I can't see that "We're open" red sign anymore but a better view of the slope. Not that many doing the slopes there, it seems. The visibility is good and there are patches of sunlight getting through today. Similar thing at Goryu. I hope we get more skiers digging in their tracks at the Happo slope. The moguls are hardly forming yet. Not like the Volkwagen size ones I'm used to seeing there.
Markie 0
Another good day at Kiroro with the ants still busy there. Meanwhile, it looks like whiteout conditions at Happo and Goryu. Can just bearly see the images of a few brave souls out there. Looks like I have to wait a bit longer for my VW-high moguls.
Markie 0
Kiroro still the resort with the most accumulated snow and still getting lots of ants every day. At Hakuba, looks like a nice day with some blue skies but can't see and riders out there.
slow 0
The forum was closed this morning and I checked the Hakuba webcams at 7am. I was very happy to see beautiful morning glow mountains there. Very nice.
thursday 1
Caught a bit of rain at Niseko I think. Wet snow at base but powdery up top.
