rigor mortis 0
the most comfortable chair lift i have ridden is suginohara, highest chairlift. - the windshield at the front (which automatically comes up as you pull into the oriba) - the pegs to rest your weary legs on - the kind of catchment area at the back by your arse, so you dont drop shit as you are doing what you do during the pleasant journey up - the ergonomically moulded seats sure beats a T-bar anyway. ps. anyone know how to spell 'ergonomic' properly? is it even a word?? griller 9
The windshields are ok when the weather is bad but get annoying when it is fine weather. Not been on that one though.
rigor mortis 0
not sure if you're supposed to, but you can pull them up if u want.
gamera 0
I don't complain. Better than walking on my own all the way to the top with a pair of tight ski boots.
frannyo 2
The ones I have been on it tells you you're not supposed to push them up. Some people do of course
Ocean11 0
I used to get a bit annoyed by people trying desperately to pull the safety bar down on my head after I barged onto their chair. It's not as if you'd all fall off without it. That insistent Donk! Donk! on the back of your helmet as matey keeps pulling at the bar...
HoTRoD 2
Me too. But the speaker voice tell us to so we must. It is annoying though. Not keen on the covered lifts unless it is heavy snow and really wild conditions.
marnix 0
Last week I heard someone talking about a chair with heated seats somewhere in Europe. On a cold day I don't think I would want to get off the lift once I'm on it.
marnix 0
The windshield bulbs are ok. But it is strange that they automatically close even when it is sunny. The one's I have been on in Europe you had to pull them down yourself so there it is optional.
number9 0
If we're the main party on the lift, I'll push up the windshielf hood if the weatehr's nice. You do have the option of not having it down.
DumbStick 13
You certainly do and I do it.... but if you look at the signs on the chairs it will often/always say "don't lift it up", just as it tells you to bring the safety bar thing down as well.
xxx 2
The lift at Suginohara is good. I only ever bring the safety bar down on a few lifts that make me feel unconfortable - not keen on going in a downward direction on a lift.

quattro 1
I've been skiing with my kids alot the last couple of seasons. Makes me feel better kowing it's down. Sometimes I think my son looks like he is ready to fall off he's only 5 and can get on ride most lifts by himself as long as it's low enough to the ground.
Thunderbird2 0
I've been on a few single lifts that have felt more than a little unsafe. The seat wasn't big enough for my not that big bottom.
Ezorisu 0
I feel that way even on quads when I have a pack on - it bumps you out just enough that it seems that disconcertingly little is left on the seat. I have to turn sideways and lean back so the automatic bar/hood (or even a manual bar) doesn't knock me in the helmet.
rach 1
I avoid single lifts if at all possible!
TheOrange 0
Maybe I'm mad, but apart from the almost painful speed I quite enjoy single lifts. And if they went 4 times the speed they do it might be quite an exciting experience.

rigor mortis 0
i find my board can get a bit heavy on my knee/ankle, so it provides welcome relief.
yamayamayama 2
I quite like the single lifts as well, apart from the speed of course. They are just so.... open. But they are goddam slow as well, there's no escaping that.
