griller 9
Someone died off the course somewhere in Hakuba today? I only caught the last part of the news but it was something like that. Anyone know more?
gogalago 0
also heard that, so seems its true... The story I heard was that it was on 47, but not on piste exactly - no major rope jumping or being out-of-bounds... something about a helmetless collision with a pole. misorano 1
Seems he was skiing on an advanced course in new snow and suffocated. Police are checking if it was a avalance or he skied into a hollow and got stuck in new snow.

nzlegend 1
If he was inbounds on main course and suffocated that really sucks meaning several people likely saw him unmoving with his head face down or buried and left him to it. If he was just out of bounds then its risk you take and he paid very dearly for that risk. Wear a helmet peeps if you are in the trees. I was at 47 on the 3rd and there was plenty of really deep pockets of pow that you could get stuck in.

SerreChe 2
Poor bloke. reminds me of a similar type of death at Kagura last year where some guy also apparently suffocated in the snow. Heard some news recently about some guy who died of asphyxiation in his car as the falling snow bloked his car's exhaust as he was sleeping with his engine running while waiting for some ski resort to open. DumbStick 13
Yes there always seems to be a few of those deaths in cars. Easy to see how it could happen as well with all the crazy snow around at the moment.
