grungy-gonads 54
Warnings out today about this air pollution. I haven't been following, WTF is this? (*If only there were something called the internet where I could search for info and find it!)
muikabochi 208
Said this in other threads but when I returned home this afternoon from Gunma there was a very strange hazy look to things here. Seems that was it. Can't quite recall seeing it like that before it was a bit eerie.
joshnii 2
On the local news just now, they're telling people to wear masks and try not to go outside.
Peetan 10
From what I gather it's manky stuff floating over from the west, Particulate Matter up to 2.5 micrometers. It's been heavy in China apparently (source), and the warm front has carried it over. It's quite nasty as it's small enough to get through the main repiratory filters and really mess up your inner gubbins™.
joshnii 2
Is this something that just passes on or something?

Peetan 10
Morning all! The air is... Not very nice this morning. I don't wear masks out of principle usually, but today I'm tempted.
pie-eater 207
It says on the telly that they are telling people not to go out if they can help it. I think I should jolly well stay at home today rather than go to work. Or then again I suppose I should be putting my very life at risk for work, so maybe not.
Chriselle 158
Well, just like everything else..... Made in China
NoFakie 45
It sounds like spokesmen for the coal industry will have something else to talk about aside from greenhouse gases. "There was more PM2.5 in the Jurassic period!" etc. etc.

"There was more PM2.5 in the Jurassic period!" etc. etc. Haha....that will rationalize well when someone adds..... "which led to the single greatest mass extinction in the history of the earth..."...
