We have no security system and don't ever lock our house. This time of year we leave sliding doors and windows open all day anyway to let the sea breeze in in the afternoon. Cools the house down a bit by the time we get home from work. It's not like we own anything that valuable. It was the same when we lived in Japan.

I'd rather they didn't have to break anything if they want to get in. Everything we have inside the house is adequately insured. If they're that desperate they're welcome to it. Still we've not locked the doors to our houses now for over 10 years. Never had anything stolen.

The people renting our Japan house probably lock the door....

And it really wouldn't be worth spending the money to come to Australia to steal what little we have in our house here.

I have heaps of items they could steal but if they want in badly they will find a way

No alarm just a flimsy glass door and leave windows open

We have had flash security in previous homes but never turned them on
