HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher 2
A question for teachers (and recently ex-teachers) on here. How many hours lessons do you have a day on average? Friends of mine range from 0.5 (!) to 6 (!).
JA2340 16
When I was teaching, which is now some years ago, I was in the classroom daily from 0900 until 1530. Averaged 1.5 * 40 minute lesson free each day, with a 20 min morning tea break and a 40 minute lunch break. That was Secondary school, and I was required to patrol the playground each day from 0730 until 0900 (or at least be available for students to call on if there was a problem). Dunno what that equates to in hours lesson time, but I DO know that Primary teachers here (even with Relief from Face-to-Face [aka RFF] time, which is, from memory, 1.5 hours a week) are in the classroom for far more time than secondary. oo 1
I had a period of 5 or 6 a day. It was non stop. Much less now, I almost wish there were more..
teikiatsulover 6
My hours vary from two per day to five per day and teach 17 hours total per week. I wish it was less, but some of my mates teach way more per week for much less money, so I can't complain. Meetings suck though don't they?
