hellyer 216
Ah, maybe not far away Looks like lake Nojiri Kurohime Snow Park?
Metabo Oyaji 71
Good job! It is indeed Kurohime Kogen Snow Park, which has a dog run, and which overlooks Lake Nojiri, home of the Lake Nojiri Naumann Elephant Museum, wherein is exhibited a life-sized model of a Naumann Elephant (not mammoth), the remains of which were excavated on the shores of Lake Nojiri. Over to you, snowjunky.

pie-eater 207
Lots of sheep, griller. Not many good pies, and a silly accent.
pie-eater 207
Were mammoths like big hairy elephants?
Metabo Oyaji 71
Same family as modern elephants, apparently, but different genus. Naumann's Elephant, now extinct, was apparently in the same genus as the modern Asian elephant, but evolved separately in Japan after the land bridge to the continent was cut off.
