TheOrange 0
OK time for my annual spring thread! It always helps me in my quest to get into some sort of better shape for summer after predictably putting on a bit over autumn/winter. My target this time is late July so I have about 3 and a half months. Not keen on the old jogging now, but I'll put some of that in with the cycling which I am enjoying. pie-eater 207
My break in England did not help. But I am eating less now and have also got myself a bike so doing some of that too.
Tubby Beaver 209
trying to ramp up my motivation but failing miserably................been putting off cycling to work since basically half way thru feb (because it was bruddy cold) but now the temps are fine, but still can't get outta bed and onto the bike....as yet
muikabochi 208
Been getting out on my bike in the evenings, when it's not raining, the last two weeks. Gradually trying to go further, did 14km last night. Hope that next month I'll be on about 20km a day and then more. It's still quite cold in the evening though - coat and gloves on! HelperElfMissy 42
Go for it Dudes! Just made the 'prep for the Southern Season' push this week myself. My fitness stuff has been fairly half hearted since getting back from Japan. Done: 1 kickboxing session, and 1 killer weights session this week. Coming Up: another kickboxing session tomorrow. But 3 times a week is not going to cut it. Need to do more!

muikabochi 208
Did 25km last night. Still a few of my fave roads that I was riding late March last year are blocked off with snow! Perhaps 50cm or so, I think it will go fairly quickly now.
Go Native 70
Once again I have decided not to use the remote but actually stand up and change the channel on the TV itself. I do this once or twice a night at the moment but hope to build up to 3-4 times a night over the next couple of weeks. Reckon I'll be ready for the Aussie ski season for the few days that it actually snows real snow
@tokyo 14
Cutting out the lard snacks as well, Go Native? I think I'll just sweat off some of the extra kg I put on over winter with the hot weather ahead of us.
minus 1
Yeah just walking around a big city June-August pretty much does the trick!

BagOfCrisps 24
Been going to the gym 3-4 times a week this last month or so. Cycling there and back as well. Not sure how long it will last, but will try to keep it going. Started really because I had some tickets for a personal trainer for 4 hours.
Thundercat 60
I actually lost weight during the winter. I'm only 2 kg heavier than when I was in high school! Been doing a lot of training to get ready for surfing this summer too. Yeah!
Go Native 70
Spent much of today chain sawing and splitting logs for winter fuel. Sure I used up a few calories!

Mantas 3
Are you heading O/S Mantas or up the coast? Heading over to Indonesia for a month SJ. It helps to be fit if you get pounded by those waves.

HelperElfMissy 42
depends on your feet, gait, any injuries or weaknesses along the chain and where and how you intend to run.
sanjo 2
And how cool you want to be.
HelperElfMissy 42
you know we were talking about this yesterday watching First Grade Rugby...if you wear fluoro yellow or fire engine red boots you better dang well run fast and tackle like a demon. No point wearing flashy shoes and playing like a rookie. Same hold for running shoes. So ask yourself.... Am I good enough? <you know I am teasing, right?>
muikabochi 208
You're just pretending to be teasing! Didn't go out on my bike last night because of the winds. I think I might have taken off the way they were blowing last night.
