hellyer 216
PIC's welcome I am talking either on mountain or at skijo base - not restaurants in town. Cheeseman, I might be able to guess your answer
grungy-gonads 54
Surely the answer is curry-rice! Perhaps we could have a general galley like the telephone box and cheese at resorts ones that everyone can add to?
Slippery Jim 65
In Japan I'll take the Minestrone & Garlic Toast at Ace Hill in Niseko , otherwise just generic curry rice or miso ramen & gyoza. Best hot chocolate is still at Kamui ( or was two seasons ago, at least).

Chriselle 158
I just CANNOT do the curry sludge thing anymore. I pick up a conbini bento, salad, and just buy some udon or soba soup on the hill. Beer...actually prefer red wine...is apres ski for me.
pie-eater 207
I dream of pies. But it will only ever be a dream.
Chriselle 158
I dream of pies. But it will only ever be a dream. A good meat pie would be really, really nummy on the hill.

Thundercat 60
Depends on where I am... Akakan has a wicked mabo-ramen... Togakushi does a super tasty tempura soba... Happo has Pink Shark pizza... I guess my favourite would be bbq but hate when my gear ends up smelling like cooked meat!
hellyer 216
Where was that Mabo BM - the place just below the top of the gondola, or at the base? I am with you on the outdoor BBQ- the one over the way from Alakan at Yodel does a good one
Thundercat 60
Near the top of the mountain is a place called Etoru (just in behind the gondola). I think the mabo-ramen is called 'Etoru ramen'. It's one of those dishes that warms you from the inside out! Very good on a cold day!
muikabochi 208
Got to admit I often don't eat on the mountain and have a meal afterwards. Maiko do a cheese-fondue and while it was not spectacular it was still cheesy and that can't be all bad. The potatoes with it were good. A few years ago Joetsu Kokusai did an all you can eat pizza and dessert thing. There was a Ghana-chocolate fountain going on. Me and the lady were totally conked out after that lot! Perhaps not the best idea for lunch on a skiing day.

big-will 7
When Kandatsu was under Pine Ridge control, they had this food thing going on. One place did bangers and mash. Predictably, it was disappointing.
