The interesting thing to me is that California was supposed to have a warmer and dryer year due to La Nina. But Mammoth apparently had their best season in ~40 years from what I've heard. Just goes to show - El Nino and La Nina are always wild cards.

Well, 2,290 at Asahi-dake ain't too far off, GN. I know I've seen snow up there well into summer, and I've skied at Senjojiki into late June. But none of that is powder. Niseko in January to late February has some of the most reliable powder conditions I've experienced.
