gerard 6
Thinking of going, Rob?
RobBright 35
God no. Still love Japan. Just had lots of friends leave recently, and always reminds me how transient living in another country can be, especially if in the ESL industry.
Thundercat 60
I know the feeling. Had to say goodbye to one of my best friends for the last 6 years this March. We hung out a lot and did loads of surfing/snowboarding trips together... looking for a replacement now (any takers?)
JA2340 16
How much do you pay, BM?

BagOfCrisps 24
For those that leave Japan - --- why!?
grungy-gonads 54
I know lots of people who have left - and couldn't get on the plane quick enough. Some were just bored with it, some didn't fit in, some didn't make friends while here, some got hassled (female friend, she got quite distressed), some felt they "weren't living in the real world", etc.
Thundercat 60
I can definitely understand why some people might want to leave... I've been thinking about it a bit lately too.
SKI 15
Funny there seems to be a thin line between loving and hating it living here.
indosnm 0
I left because I wanted to pursue a "real" career. I'll go back for visits & may do a short stint someday but would be hard to leave the awesome surf I have come back to..
thursday 1
I love visiting. Living in Japan would drive me nuts. It's just the pace and the way of doing things.
RobBright 35
looking to move to the country but love where we live now, no sprawling city mass, plenty of greener.
brit-gob 9
I had a period seriously thinking about leaving. Hated job, couldn't find another. And it was summer too so mad hot and miserable. Got through that though and can't see me doing it anytime soon.
kintaro 0
Divorce drove me away but I often think of returning. I have been gone for about two years now and don't know what will happen with my lifetime Japan visa if I don't return kind of soon. Gaijin card ends in two weeks. I still speak Japanese everyday living and working in Hawaii but miss a lot about J-life. ã©ã†ã—ょã†ï¼Ÿ
Thundercat 60
Did you naturalize Kintaro? If you're PR you'll need to renew your visa before your re-entry permit expires. You probably already know that though...
