charlotte 0
I would like to ask the guys on here - what possesses you to begin having a mustache and/or beard. And what's the decision to have just a mustache or both, or perhaps even a beard without a mustache. I find it fascinating. Like clean cut myself but
Tubby Beaver 209
for me it was to win a competition between mates......I won! It was the worst month of my life, sweaty July made even sweatier with a goatee beard!!!! The happiest day was the day after judging, that bad boy got shaved down to nowt!! charlotte 0
Did you make a nice sweater with it?
Tubby Beaver 209
haha it wasn't that bad, had to keep trimming it throughout the month as the hair had a habit of irritating my lips!!
RobBright 35
it gets cold and my chin needs warming up.
Jynxx 4
Shaving is so annoying. and having facial hair is annoying, too. But my Missus likes stubbles on me, she says I look good and younger. so I'm not allowed to shave every day.
RobBright 35
Hate shaving every day. I don't think women realise how much it rips your face off.
gareth_oau 2
I grew a (blond) moustache when I was 19 and didnt shave it off til I was about 40 and throughout that time would grow a beard on a regular basis, always kept relatively neat and short. I was also well and truly going bald, so used to cut my hair as a no. 1 One day, decided to shave of the mo, and carried on going and shaved my head as well, and have been bald and shiny for the last 6 years, shaving my head (both ways) every morning. A tip for you Rob - have a shower first, then shave afterwards. the warm water softens the hair and makes the skin smoother, so shaving isnt such a pain. Also invest in a good quality quadruple blade razor, and I use sorbolene cream instead of traditional shaving cream. If I'm at the snow and want to wear a beanie, I cant shave smooth otherwise the beanie just slides off LOL. I have to leave the tiniest bit of stubble for the beanie to use like velcro! JA2340 16
What ger said! I bin shaving now for something like 45 years, ditched the blade thing after about the first 10, have had an electric one since, and it doesn't "rip" my face at all. Cannot stand even 3 days growth, the itch is worse than the minor irritation of shaving daily. And, when the temps get up around 40 or so, with 30+% humiddiddity, the itch becomes a powerful incentive for a shave.
Mantas 3
Every year down here we have 'movember'. Lots of dudes grow a mustache for the month of November to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer. It's getting very popular. I've been tempted to do it but the 70's porn star look is almost inevitable.
Thundercat 60
I'm so lazy I shave very strategically twice a week (at most). Once let it go for over two years... this was when I was an unemployed bum traveling around N. America and Europe. It was great. Never got hassled by anyone... things changed after 9-11 though and rocking a giant beard was like painting a target on your face while going through customs or immigration check points! bobby12 0
Having a wet shave each morning is no biggie, takes maybe 3 mins max. I rock the cheap disposables, having tried all other types in my youth.
Sciclone 2
I shave usually 3 times a week, because my job doesn't require me to be presentable, so a 2 day growth is no biggie. I hate it when it gets longer though as it itches like nothing else... I didn't shave for a week when we went to the snow in NSW (they don't provide razors like Japan) and by the time I got back I had a good beard going, but I couldn't wait to take it off. Thundercat 60
bobby, I'm not a morning person and don't have even 3 minutes to spare! Seriously, between my 8am start (should be there by 7:45) and 30 minute bicycle ride each morning its a miracle I've never been late!
LiquidX 0
Early mornings suck. I'm terrible at getting up and out to work. And shaving too.

pie-eater 207
Another advantage of that dude I posted just before is he doesn't even need to spend his money on razors at all!

My dad has been using those BiC razors since I can remember, the type you can buy 100 for about 10 pence!! I've tried using them before and I'd have been better using a broken glass, but last Christmas when I was home, I'd forgotton my razor and got a new disposable one from my dad's never depleted stock and to my surprise I was able to have a decent shave with it and didn't cut up my face
