SnowJapan Moderator SnowJapan.Com#4 5 Posted June 9, 2009 SnowJapan Moderator Share Posted June 9, 2009 Asking for a bit of help with something we are currently working on. Below are 3 images, labelled 700, 725 and 750. We would like to know which size you feel is best. What does "best" mean? Best for displaying on the Forums, on the site... whatever you take it to mean. Depending on display size and settings, for some people 750 might be a bit too large. Is it for you? Is bigger better? Does it make any difference? Thanks for the help!
HelperElfMissy 42
750 works for me, but happy with any of them.
muikabochi 208
All ok but I tend to set mine to 700..... 750 seems to push the side of the Forums over on some smaller displays. 700 is still fairly big to see all the detail.
iiyamadude 6
All ok here don't look too different to me.
thursday 1
My 750 doesn't push the borders wider. So I've voted 750.
scouser 4
On the old pc here at work, the 750 is pushing things out to the side - not by much. 700 still looks pretty big on this display.
flip360 0
All ok here. Nice pic!
BagOfCrisps 24
Don't know what for but I would say 700 is plenty big and will not cause as many problems with some viewers.
2pints-mate 0
I actually prefer the 700. Big enough, nice detail, not too big.
stemik 14
700 & 725 look good....750 is a bit in your face
foreversnow 5
I like to think outside the square and couldn't make up my mind as they all looked the same quality so I am going 725!!
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted June 9, 2009 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted June 9, 2009 Thanks for the feedback. snowhuntress, it's not about quality of the photo as such - more the size.
JA2340 16
On a lappy with 1024 x 768 pixels, there is no overlap on the right, the menus all look OK and the display dioes not distort. Not many boxes with lower than 1024 x 768 display capability these days, go with the higher res!
r45 4
Some of the responses here would perhaps suggest otherwise... My house - my PC ok, g/f pc 750 looks a bit too big.
JA2340 16
Guess thats why SJF asked the question. I was just giving my observation (as an IT tech installer) as I see it.
Hotaka Scott 0
Like the 700 - not so sure why though.
Tubby Beaver 209
the 700 is fine so is the 725, I don't think you need giant pics on here anyway
Error404 0
Must be very difficult trying to please the most people most of the time!
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted June 10, 2009 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted June 10, 2009 It's very difficult Error404! We just try to take in feedback and make decisions based on what we think is best considering everything that's involved. That's all we can do really. Anyway, we will be making a fairly big update in the coming weeks and will be posting more to explain the details when that happens.
Ezorisu 0
700 looks just fine. My work machine display res is 1024x768 and the 750 is just large enough to make the sideways scrollbar appear at the bottom of the browser window.
thursday 1
that resolution still exists?
Ezorisu 0
It's old. It's not mine.

Jynxx 4
I went for 750. No issues. Just bigger the better because I can see more details. It's a smallish pic anyway. Interesting to see the results of the vote... 700 or 750 !
muikabochi 208
I'm a bit surprised that 700 is getting more votes actually, even though that's what I voted for. Good luck with putting the final touches to the new stuff.
