Yes I have seen them before of course, but never the less.........just not right in public where small children can see them and become confused! Like I really want to stand there taking pics of a tranny..... nooooo

Sciclone 2
Sorry, I'm with Snowdude on this one... If people decide to live alternate lifestyles, thats their choice. But some of us despite this age of internet, would prefer not to see it.

Rag-Doll 0
rather than feeling disgust i reckon people ought to consider it from that guy's point of view. he has probably spent years trying to come to grips with what he wants to do v what society (esp Japaneses society) expects him to do. He would be well aware of the disgust some people have for his lifestyle and at some level he might even feel ashamed himself for feeling the need to dress a certain way. For all that the guy is a (big) bit off the beam, good on him for getting out there.
Ezorisu 0
Ah! Shinjuku! Snowdude, head over to Shinjuku, ni-choume and you'll see so much of that you'll be desensitized to it for life!

Yeah I know there is plenty of that there, around kabukicho, but you expect to see that there, which I have when I sometimes pass through there, and I don't really take any notice or care about it, as there are plenty of weirdos around that area! but when you see just one person like that walking through a station it stands out. For all of you who seem to support this alternative lifestyle, maybe you don't have small kids, because had my daughter been with me and noticed him, it would be rather confusing for her and not easy for me to try to explain to her!!! That is my point behind all this, there are places such as kabukicho, for people like that. A very busy station with where small kids around is not!
RobBright 35
SD - thats the typical kind of bigotry attitude that causes so many problems of this world today. I would be able to understand it if there were laws or such; however, there aren't. You could simply say to her, he was going to a 'fancy dress' party. How would you explain it if you she saw two people of the same sex kissing? Would you think that's disgusting? How is that any different to the man dressed up? Sounds like you might need to really put this into perspective - I thought in this day and age - when you see porn stars become main stream actors/actresses, 'new-halfs/transsexuals' appearing on TV variety shows, transvestites giving out relationship advice. How are you going to explain all of that?

Having seen 2-meter tall Marilyn Monroe in the underground walkway in the station heading toward the New South exit, I would have to say that if I was asked about said spectacle by said child, I would probably just tell her, "my, isn't she a really tall lady, " or, "my, looks like she needs a shave." I am skeptical if a child would even notice, or even demand an explaination for a that matter. Kids have more important kid-things on their minds whilst walking through the station than playing "spot the drag queen".
me jane 0
Why not just tell kids the truth in a way they understand? "That man likes dressing up in ladies clothes." Lots of kids like playing dressing up games so it would be a simple explanation they could relate to. There are plenty of more serious things I hope my two year old will not have to see until he is older. Him seeing a tranny wouldn't worry me.

Maybe you should just teach your kid to be as small minded, bigoted and hateful as yourself. No confusion at all then! Frankly people with views like yours are the ones that disgust me. Just remember that kids aren't naturally hateful and small minded, they learn it from their parents...
snowdude 44
GO NATIVE do not tell me I am small minded, bigoted and hateful, you do not know me at all!! I understand my daughter will see all sorts of things in her life as she grows up and I have no intention of wrapping her up in cotton wool either. And yes I can explain things to her as needed! I am simply saying it is never the less despite this day and age, someone like that in their 40's dressed like that just plain looks wrong, stands out a mile! That is all! Now if we can't have a proper discussion about this then forget it!!!! I know lets kill this topic!!
