Molochan 0
I have some favorite pension in Shiga Kogen and Hakuba that I go to. They are cosy, comfortable and very good food.
Roger's head 0
I don't like paying to stay at hotels, I really don't. I find them too expensive generally (at whatever level) and often feel ripped when I leave. Don't know why, just do. They are unavoidable though of course at times and I know a fab little place in Hakuba that is a bit out of the way but a really nice couple own it and the food is excellent. I like staying there and hope it doesn't change.
yoroshiku onegai shimasu 2
I like staying at places, but they need to be decent. Can't expect something for nothing though some places do offer better value than others (obviously). Pensions are often hit and miss - sometimes to the extreme.

Hornster 0
A hotel where you can ski right into your hotel is always good! There are a few like that in Niseko.
Weegeoff 0
What about a ski in and carry out bar

the the 0
Cost is big with me but I don't need meals - just a good bed. I'd love to try a traditional Japanese place.
Zang Tumb Tuum 0
Difficult balance between cost and comfort. I definitely like low of the first and high of the last. Usually for me a decent small warm place that takes care of the place and offers a friendly service does me just fine. Staying in what looks like a nice 'pension' in Japan this time. Not the cheapest place, but looks real good.
