muikabochi 208
Good thread. (Would be good if we could edit polls!) Hakkai-san should be on the list of jibiiru!

thursday 1
where's Sapporo's Hokkaido and Classic?
Yuki's Passion 1
I agree! I know after making this that I left out quite a few, as Ezo said Orion from the Ryukyus, Otaru (Ive been to the brewery there), and soooo many others. SJF, SJ#1, et al, any chance we could get a poll edit function?
bobby12 0
Yonayona is amazing on tap, though I only ever found two places that did it on tap (old rock in matsumoto and some restaurant in karuizawa). From a can, my favourite is Suntory Malts and to a lesser extent Premium Malts.
soubriquet 0
Kirin Akiaji doing well . Looks as if I'm mainstream for a change.
Tubby Beaver 209
My fave one is Saporro's Red Star Beer, dunno what the name is but it has a red star on it instead of the usual gold one
thursday 1
looks like Sapporo is kicking ass.
2pints-mate 0
I remember really liking Ebisu. Quite strong isn't it? I liked most of the stuff I had actually, and can't remember names all that well.
thursday 1
if you think 4.5% alcohol strong, then yes. Wait, get your lips round Ichiban, it's 5.5%.
Yuki's Passion 1
Just want to say that I think Asahi SuperShite is crap. Why is that the preferred drink at meetings/parties/etc here? Was *forced* to drink it last night, but my colleagues and I decided to go out after and wash it down with some Kilkenneys Asahi is Japan's worst beer, IMO.
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher 2
It's true isn't it - seems to be the beer that is brought out at parties. (Cheap perhaps?)
soubriquet 0
Most popular beer in Japan. About 2:1 (Asahi:Kirin) in my experience flogging beer to revellers at the Oishida Matsuri.
thursday 1
The silver can makes it look good. But it ain't cheap.
gerard 6
Yeah, Asahi is for people who don't care what their beer tastes like, or don't particularly want to taste it at all. Of the major labels, Kirin lager is probably my staple but actually in the summer, I drink hops sometimes. The Kirin green label one's actually not so bad. But for quality, ginga kogen is one of my favourite summer beers. But if I was stuck on a desert island and had only one kind of beer on tap for the rest of my life I'd want a good Indian Pale Ale. I can't find many decent affordable ales in Japan.
Yuki's Passion 1
>But for quality, ginga kogen is one of my favourite summer beers Ger, the white can? Thats brilliant, very similar to Hoegaarden, isnt it? My staple beers are Hooegarden, Duvel, Ebisu (including the dark), and Ichiban.
indosnm 0
I didn't really mind the silver Bullets. Though Sapporo was always my first choice. Mixed it up with Kirin Lager and Asahi. Preferred Ichiban on tap rather than the can.
thursday 1
Staple: Ichiban When I cn get it: Sapporo
Mini Me Tarzan 0
I like to say "cheers" and hit my mum and dad's beer glasses with my cup. I haven't tried beer yet. I don't think I would like it. I don't like drinks with bubbles.
indosnm 0
MMT, stay away from the bubbles mate.. and the internet... it's evil!
minus 1
I've always liked Sapporo black label. Yebisu is good too.
