2pints-mate 0
Not as fast as him, I'm sure!
snowdude 44
No limit to how fast I can ski, trouble is my skis can't keep up with me, lol! (JOKE) Not sure really never checked my speed, I guess kind of average speed.
soubriquet 0
I normally like to keep my speed down, but I guess there are times when you have to go for it...
OkemoLoon 0
I have cought myself going what I call 'stupid fast' a few times this season. Its when you reach the point that if you go any faster you will be out of control, strength comes into play a lot at that point. But it is only stupid fast for my level. Im sure there are people that would think my stupid fast is easily controlable for them.
grungy-gonads 54
The 2 times I have seen myself on video I have been terribly disappointed that my 'stupid fast' looked decidedly slow. I think the operator had it on slow forward or something.
Kingofmyrrh 0
If you had a nice gentle runout then I guess you could just point them downhill. Got a lesson in what real speed is from FT and Stunts this weekend though.
2pints-mate 0
I'd go much faster if it wasn't for all the other pesky skiers and snowboarders I have to share with
JA2340 16
Damn! I got a defective set of skis! The speedo is missing! I want a refund!
gerard 6
If I want to go fast, I have to dig my 18 year-old 200cm straight volkls out of the closet.
gerard 6
Or get another pair of skis.

It feels like you're going really fast but in reality you're simply not. I did some filming this season of some tree runs with a helmet cam and like you was quite disappointed that what I thought was a fairly respectable dash wasn't much faster than a brisk walk. So long as it feels fast, I guess that's enough.
thursday 1
I go so fast, the scenery is a blur. But the real reason is the beers at the top and bottom of the run.
sanjo 2
Do you drink during a ski day thursday? I wait until the evening myself.
Markie 0
I don't drink (alcohol) when I'm skiing in Japan. But in France they serve this Vin Chaud (hot wine) everywhere on the slopes. Tastes quite nice, kinda like a hot Ribena.
marnix 0
Just got an email from a friend of mine mentioning he did 128kmh (on a gps handheld)he was certain that he could go faster but ran out of slope. going fast is relative to the location and conditions
OkemoLoon 0
128kmh, thats hauling some serious ass. Thats 80MPH (i think in MPH). I know downhillers hit those speeds your friend must be awesome, or have a deathwish.
thursday 1
or the handheld GPS may not be that accurate.
AK 77 0
David Benedek does 124 km/h trying to get enougfh speed to clear a step-up/over jump in the dvd '91 Words for Snow' on a snowboard - alot scarier than on skis. As a proportion of that... that's 77mph, so I reckon maybe I've gone about 50mph / 80 kmph tops, when air forces itslef in through all your (closed) zips, and the board starts lifting if the nose catches the air ... but this is meaningless as it depends on the conditions, and whether you can still ride at that speed, or if you're just flailing out of control and in danger of killing someone. I'd rather be able to ride at 20kmph in tricky conditions smoothly, than be able to hoon it... but it's fun sometimes.
