Totally pointless question unless we know to who(m - catch my drift?) the email being sent?

Do you really use one level of formality for everyone, friend, business or someone you haven't met?

Could be:

Yo / laters,

Yellow / peas,

Darling FT / all my love,

Hi / take care,

Hellloooooo / byeeeee,

Dear / Yours sincerely,

Dear Sir or Madam / Yours faithfully,

Dear / Best wishes,

Oi / now piss off

etc.... depends on who you are mailing. For friends I usually make something different up each time as I have the attention span of a 5 year old.

I try to keep mine friendly and always keep it in mind that these records keep! Some people really are so cold on email and say things they would not dream of to peoples faces. I try to avoid that before I click send. Not that I'm angry that often!
