The pussy gaijins who 'escaped'...
Saitaman replied to grungy-gonads's topic in General off-topic discussions
From Kobe?! Because of the events of March 11th? Bet he must have felt slightly silly. -
What's the social rules here....

Sorry should have been clearer... yes, Japanese. -
I met someone I have not seen for a few years. Not really friends just acquaintances. Anyway one of the first thing she said was, "oh you have put on weight haven't you". I thought thanks! Certainly I have put on a bit, nothing startling though, but it's a bit of a knock when someone uses something like that as a greeting. I felt like saying back "and you are looking uglier than you used to!". What's the accepted things with comments like this? I don't think I really get it.

Funny you should say that, same here. Feel mostly back to normal but kept going with that. Oh, and I have 2 basic grab bags ready now, one in the genkan and one in the garage. -
Got the bastard at last!

No ski helmet? No ski insurance
Saitaman replied to SKI's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Are they actually 'gates'? (Serious question, I have never been). -
Well yes. I expect you know what I mean, Mr Happy.

Is there anything worse?! It should be called colored water, not milk.

There's this girl in our office who no kidding must spend half of the day fiddling about with her keitai phone. Must admit it is getting annoying not only to see all that fiddling about but the fact that she's doing sod all work. What's the policy where you work? If indeed you work for someone other than yourself of course. My company just don't seem to have any kind of policy but this girl is just taking the mickey.

Not me, that's for sure. But this discussion is about helmets/insurance, not shoes. -
Speed of ski lifts
Saitaman replied to muikabochi's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Is it true that resorts often run lifts at slow speeds on weekdays or when not busy? -

I think he was just commenting and probably couldn't care less that you couldn't care less. Likely you couldn't care less about that either! So, is there a point in comments like that? I wear one because I want to. Protection and warmth. -
Nice views, but don't fall!
