Snow-Woman

I am going to Hokkaido for Golden Week - without my skis.... to visit some friends in some distant northern part of the island. I'm really looking forward to it.

Why not explain why you dismiss it as being 'terrible'? I like it in fact it is one of the places that I like to go to most. It gets nice and cold and the snow is often excellent up there. There are 3 main areas, I like the Taros area best as it offers the most challenge. I think it is very well suited to beginners and (lower) intermediates and perhaps families and the like. People looking for a big challenge will probably be disappointed.

I kinda want to do it just so that I know I've done it. (Make sense?) I'd like to see the sunrise from the top.

Not sure yet. I'd love to have one last time but it will depend on friends and the weather I suppose.

It was very iffy after that as well wansn't it really new year before the main snow arrived?

Lost mine once at Heathrow. It took 10 days to get it back, god knows where it had gone to! If I remember correctly they upgraded me to Business on the way back as a sorry.

Yes it is that time of the year, not too bad so far this year but definitely worse today.

I have been here for nearly 4 years so far, 3 of those in Osaka. Signed up for another 2 and a half years - I can't see myself staying longer than that though I think I will have had more than enough by then!

I used to be in Osaka but since last summer I am now in Kawasaki. I'll probably be here another few years.
