  1. For those watching sky, it is starting on one of the channels next month I think (can't remember fox or axn maybe).
  2. I thought he seemed like a thoroughly decent and personable bloke who made a lot of people happy through his work and was very dedicated to his work and promoting a lot of positive things. The world needs more positive people like him and less negative miserable gits who add little positive to the world (not directed at anyone here in particular!) I was getting over-emotional at his passing away - even though I thought it was sad - but also find it quite hard to understand how some people are so critical. But everyone has their opinion so....
  3. I went to Sendai to meet a friend a while back. It seemed like one of the better Japanese cities... perhaps a bit more organised and better looking than some of the messes I have seen. We went to an Irish bar (can't remember the name) and drank a lot, after that the memory fades a little.
  4. It wasn't very strong here, but being so far away I don't want to imagine how such a quake feels when you are close by. Take care!
  5. Quote: so it is as fresh in 2012 as it is today Extremely fresh!
  6. All these folk with over 3 weeks. I hope you realise how lucky you are!
  7. The other thing is cost. It's not cheap especially when you think about the travel and accommodation costs as well. So if you're not really into it, I can understand why people can see it as a big expensive hassle.
  8. Quote: todays trivia, what famous movie shot footage in the above 2 picures? Watched it last night, and noticed this location! Is it in Kyoto?
  9. I watched Sayuri (Memoirs of a Geisha) last night and actually really enjoyed it. Seemed a little strange with them all speaking English at first but I got used to it. Beautifully filmed.
  10. Yum me too. Toffee and caramel. Terribly fattening though. I once was given something called treacle toffee. Jet black it was and quite strong but very very yummy. Only had it the once would love to have some more of that.
  11. Not sure I like the idea myself either. I'm generally a rather private person so that probably a lot to do with it.
  12. I actually had to be dragged into it by some friends. I wasn't keen at all at first. I like being warm. I was soon hooked though as I had so much fun.
  13. Sounds good. I am a big ramen fan. Anyway I plan to go up that area soon, maybe round Togakushi and the backroads round Myoko as well... pretty area.
  14. I saw The Blob (88) last night. I advise others not to.
  15. I don't like listening to other peoples wages when they are higher than mine.
  16. During the olympics were the resorts open for normal guests at all? Were any of you Hakuba dudes there during that time?
  17. Just think LM, you missed a less than best season and you've got next season in front of you. Just don't go jogging any more!
  18. Tubby Check this: http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/85025/page/0/fpart/1 It's just to the north of Myoko in Niigata Prefecture, actually now officially part of Myoko City.
  19. "ego-centric, grandiose, pathological liars with a lack of conscience, remorse and guilt" I know someone just like that. He is "successful" as well. Though I wonder what goes on in his head and whether one day he will feel remorse or guilt.
