the hot new ski destination
holo replied to eskimobasecamp's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
it can only be good for the Japanese ski industry to get some international exposure. Despite the inaccuracies mentioned by others it is surely a step in the right direction. Amongst passionate skiers/boarders it doesn't take much to spread the word. Heck, even regular exposure and spruiking on ski forums based in other countries will rustle up a few visitors. IMHO. -

use the touring to get closer to nature and incorporate the natural theme into the redecorations. Ergo ski touring = decoration research

I see a few Brits on the forums but get the impression they haven't descended en masse yet. Is that true ? Can the Brits answer whether there is much marketing or discussion toward Japan ? I infrequently visit an English ski forum and there isn't much talk on Japan just yet. I am English and often talk to friends and family and most have heard of skiing in Japan but don't know much about it. -

In one of his first appearences for Michael Parkinson he came on and just spoke for 10 minutes, keeping the audience in stitches and Parky was just laughing. Parky said it was the longest it had been before Parky was able to get a word in on his own show

I prefer to go direct, however for an impending trip to Japan we have found the agent is quite a bit cheaper. To stay on topic, treat others how you would like to be treated, ie with respect and courtesy. You make lots more friends that way -
