Hard drives don't have OS compatibility issues. They are a blank space waiting to be written on, so once you format them, they are fine with whatever OS you used to do the task. Don't worry about compatibility, look at size, reliability, speed and price.

So... how about snowboarding and skating? Big difference?

I'm from Britain, where unless you have a fair bit of money, neither snowboarding nor surfing are the most common activities. I started snowboarding when I came to Japan a few years ago. This summer, I've been thinking of stepping up from my bodyboard to a surfboard. My question is, how similar are snowboarding and surfing? And will my ability in one help my ability in the other?

Last Sunday, there was still pretty good coverage even as far down as Mitsumata. Had quite a good day out, although some of the snow was hella sticky. You could usually tell because it had either a pink or yellow tinge to it...

Kiroro still has 380cm of snow, and is actually reporting +20cm on the front page of SJ. Amazing!

I just had the luck to enjoy some Hakuba "Alpen" (aka Happo) thanks to SJ too. Shame about the current conditions though. I'm guessing you hiked up, Tearer? If you really need to clean your base and don't have base cleaner, just hot scrape - hot wax your board and scrape before the wax cools off. This will pull all the shit out of the pores of the p-tex just as well as any cleaner.

I was at Hakuba Goryu today. Waist-deep powder, it was dumping all day, and apart from the Toomi gelende at the bottom, barely a soul there. It was powder heaven! Got to hit that up again ASAP!!
