  1. the type of work you get will really depend on how much japanese you know before going. if you can get to a basic conversational level then you have a huge headstart and may be able to find work that isn't schoolteaching. and getting a working holiday visa is a bit of a pain, youll need to book your flight and show that you have 2000 USD worth of yen before they even issue the visa, at least thats the case in nz. so you need to be sure where you are going and what you are doing before you apply for it. mine took about 3 weeks.
  2. computer parts are cheap, digital cameras are too. decent fruit is expensive like everywhere, if you look in the right places, bargains can be found. unfortunately sometimes it takes a while to find out where these places are in your city

  7. Ah i think you hit the nail on the head. What I need to do is stop using romaji, because then I say it like its an english word. Unfortunately I have only just started learning the kana though, long way to go heh
  8. i cant figure out how to pronounce this, i think its a fairly common word that I hear every day, i think people say it when i walk into a shop, it sounds to me like "sumimasen" ;/ : [いらっしゃいませ] [irasshaimase] is it supposed to be "ee rass ha ee mah seh" ? my untrained ear sucks

  16. depending on the way its set up, you either just type your password in or sometimes you have to hit ctrl alt delete first. like most things in windows its fairly self explanatory once you're looking at it.
  17. windows key + L is the shortcut key combination to lock your pc. or ctrl + alt + del then hit lock computer
