Just a useless post to get my 100 post!

Yes! That and sending money overseas.

Actually in the post office they pretty much know my requests so it isn't much of a hassle anymore. If the staff have changed though, it's mass panic. I think they'd rather call the holidaying staff up and drag them in than get a 'newbie' to deal with it.

spam = delish, and so,/..... hmmm maybe not -
I find it hard in situations like that to hide my frustration. In turn they must groan when they see me approaching with my awkward and unusual requests!

Don't forget cottage cheese. A controversial choice perhaps, but it could look a bit like snow. -
Gondolas in Hakuba
miller replied to IIIII's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Hi IIIII. I agree. I went up Happo last year (just uploaded some photos to SJ). You take the gondola and then 2 quad lifts, then walk up to Happo ike which is about an hour or so. Get views like this -
There's a guy on the tv now being interviewed who 'lives' in a Net Cafe. He has even changed the address on his Juminhyo to the address of the Net Cafe. 31 years old. 2 pot noodles a day. Coke from the machine. Using the internet in a little cubicle. Washes his clothers in the net cafe washing machines. That's his life. Seems they are set up for people to live in them.

Another top tip - EAT SLOWLY! It actually works. -
Hi gifugill. I have just got me a tripod. I didn't want to spend much and was a bit lost at first but a good friend with something to offload came to the rescue - turns out it is a pretty good one apparently (Gitzo). The local camera shop were really helpful explaining a few things and if I was buying I wouldn't be buying anything fancy just to get the job done. I'm going to be hunting out some waterfalls and other such subjects soon.

Sendai is nice, I spent a few weeks there for work and I thought it was nicer than most Japanese cities I had been to. -
This is confusing. Is the batter 'being used' when it is connected? Doesn't it just turn off when it is full or something?
