Enjoyed Superman Returns a bit of nostalgia there. A Scanner Darkly looks good, I want to see that one. -

Saw Batman Begins last night. Didn't mean to watch it, it just came on and I started watching.... enjoyed it. -
The World Cup 2006 thread
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to scouser's topic in General off-topic discussions
BBC: Quote: Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said his side's inability to score was the reason for their World Cup semi-final exit. Smart bloke that Scolari. I'm glad he pointed it out. I was wondering why they lost. -

We're not doing so bad this year so far. I hope it continues until I escape for the summer -
How to stop being clumsy?
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to charlotte's topic in General off-topic discussions
I'm a bit clumsy too. Knocking things over, tripping, spilling coffee that kind of stuff. Quite funny actually sometimes. -
I'm really fed up with it, I'll be glad when the World Cup craziness overtakes it.

It's that time of year - I've been phoning round to find out about flights back for the summer. Surprisingly it seems that prices are a bit cheaper than they have been the last few years. Not complaining of course, anyone else noticed that?

I'm going to be buying a new desktop soon. Noticed a friend of mines fairly new one (it's a Dell) seems really noisy. I'm not keen on that, but not sure why it is so noisy and if all computers are now, what with all their sugoi power. Are there brands that are more noisy than others, or is it something in the specs I should be looking out for?

Saw that last night, good stuff. A bit of a serious change from Wallace & Grommit the night before -

Spring holidays?
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to ishidoraman's topic in General off-topic discussions
I'm actually busier now that it is the spring holidays. I'll have a bit of a breather towards the end of next week. -
I just read this over at Mainichi and thought I'd share it. Some people are just (desperate) idiots. Courting costs during the heady days of Japan's economic bubble in the Eighties were known for being notoriously high. While guys weren't expected to foot as much when business turned bad in the Nineties, the Noughties have seen steady improvement in trade. Now, Spa! (3/28) says, despite almost a decade of deflation, men are now paying more for presents they lavish on ladies when going out on dates than they did when it seemed the world's economy was about to be overtaken by the Japanese

Are you watching it on the tv now? I catch it every so often, though it's near the end now when all its energy was drained out of it and it got particularly bad.

Seinfeld characters
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher's topic in General off-topic discussions
I think I can manage the small amount they cost on DVD and enjoy them on my tv along with all the extras that are packed onto them. A lot of stuff to get through! -
There seem to be quite a few Seinfeld fans on here. The last few months I've been going through the DVDs - up to series 6 now. They are just sooooo funny. I was trying to think who was my favorite character and it was really difficult. My least favorite was easy..... Seinfeld himself. I just don't find him that funny, even annoying at times. But the other 3 make up for it. So.... lets see who is the fave!
