  1. Good luck! Sounds like it should be entertaining. Just make sure that even if you do like natto you say you don`t, or you`ll break their hearts.
  2. I`m the opposite i like used books, they have a history and feel more friendly. Especially when they`re books passed on to you by friends or family. You might be interested in this site if you want to look for used books in japan. Though haven`t had the chance to use it myself yet so don`t know how good it is. http://www.booksatcaravan.net/
  3. Just bought a new nixon watch, which is quality. Unfortunatley, looking through their merchandising I discovered their slogan - "No other watch is closer to the truth"
  4. An interesting take on the spain game http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1356226,00.html Damn lucky we didn`t get the smug smiles completely wiped of our faces on Saturday! Cheers WBA Maybe the fears of the premiership turning into a two-horse race are unfounded - six clubs within the top ten points. The champions league spot battle could turn into a good one also.
  5. It won`t be a problem for buying food as i`m sure there`s supermarkets and the like. Was thinking more of restaurants. Round here no restaurants have veggie options or provide alternatives. Was hoping this wasn`t the case up in Hakuba. Wondering if anyone knew of any good places. And cheers for the link slow
  6. The friend i`m going with up to hakuba is a vegetarian. Is this likely to be a problem? Is anyone here a vegetarian who`s been there? cheers
  7. Fair enough. In my own personal opinion i wouldn`t sign petitions or help in campaigns etc. on the drug issue either as i don`t feel i`ve lived here enough to do so and think it should be illegal (although i don`t agree with the way suspects are treated). But i have more respect for someone who feels there is an injustice and tries to do something about it than for people who just accept things how they are. That`s not a personal attack, i am cetainly more inclined to do the latter myself, it`s just why i admire and have respect for people who stand up to things they don`t agree with. Even tho
  8. I don`t know too much about the specifics of the japanese legal system or how representative of people living on japan this forum is. But i was under the impression that a major complaint being raised is the way in which people arrested are treated. How they are looked after, what rights they have etc. Thunderpants`s ordeal sounds horrific. And that is BEFORE he was tried. That`s not a problem with just this particular law. It is highlighted by it. Campaigning for change is a necessary and important. Of course there are more important things but there are many important things that many p
  9. And then if the kidnappers family decided to take revenge on you after you served your sentence? To a large degree we should obey the law simply because it is the law, this is the basis of social order. But this is completely undermined if large sections of society find certain laws ridiculous (or lacking in severity). If people have a lack of respect for a particular law it is more difficult to respect any law because you lose trust in law-makers and enforcers. For example if you live in a country with a lot of laws that seem wholly unnecessary or over-the-top you loose respe
  10. Reminds me of the darwin award nomination involving those ski towers from a few years back. A group of friends went onto the slope and stole the big mats used as padding on the towers. Took it to the top of the run and used it as a sledge. Which was all well and good until they hit a ski tower - the one from which they stole the padding - apparantly the results weren`t too good! Maybe it`s these sort of horrific accidents that the ski fields are trying to cut down on?
  11. Something to try to avoid doing this season... http://www.pyleblanc.com/PY%27s%20Crash.htm Has sound
  12. At least they`re not as bad as the NZ rope tows on the club fields. I tried Craigieburn out and it nearly killed me!
  13. Anyone know if the Spain England game will be shown on BS something or terrestrial? Sky`s starting to look more and more tempting!
  14. You should see the link! Sat myself down for a good read but in the end decided i didn`t have a couple of hours to spare!
  15. "FLUOROCARBONS VS. FLAMES...BE ATTENTIVE Many people associate fluorocarbon waxes with their highly toxic, reactive and ozone-eating cousins...chloro-fluorocarbons (CFC's). But the fluorocarbons used in waxes do not belong in this category...in fact one of their primary characteristics is inertness, or very limited reaction to other materials and compounds. Analysis and tests done on Swix Cera F, for example, showed that when used as recommended, it will not react with human body tissue or fluids. The melting point of these fluorocarbon waxes is higher than most hydrocarbon waxes, but abou
  16. Near some mountains would be great! Niseko, Sapporo, Hakuba, Nagano, Niigata, North Gifu all sound fantastic. I guess out of all of those Sapporo takes my fancy the most. Or maybe somewhere really in the sticks like Furano, but it`d probably drive me crazy after a couple of months.
  17. Just seen some info on another forum which advises against using cleaning fluid on the base each time you wax, as it dries it out. Instead wax your board and scrape off the wax while warm to clean it and then wax it properly. Only use cleaning fluid every now and again. http://www.adrenalintrip.net/forums/viewtopic.php?siteid=3&topicdays=45&topic=72078&forum=1&7
  18. Is it pricy? How easy is it to set up? Am very tempted by this freelivefootball thing but need to get a paypal account setup which is difficult to do from here as all my cards are billed to england. Would LOVE to be able to watch regular premiership football.
  19. Unfortunately not, just listen to them through the CFC site, it shows highlights also. Am tempted by sky but don`t think it`ll be worth it, do you have it?
  20. That sounded like a good one. And a Baros hat-trick for you! Is he starting to get his act together? Found another good website www.freelivefootball.co.uk (does exactly what it say on the tin) but only if you have a paypal account which i don`t and am having difficulty getting Sounds like there were a lot of good goals also.
  21. Yep, all girls. 3 of them. They`re playing in the restaurant/club before The Bride comes in and ruins the decor.

  24. Don`t know if it counts as i know nothing about them, but have got into The 5,6,7,8`s. Got a bit of their stuff after hearing Woo Hoo in Kill Bill. Mostly old cover versions, with no social commentary, or political undertones, but a lot of fun.
