  1. I`m jewish and don`t celebrate christmas but really enjoy christmas time back in england. Everyone`s friendlier than usual and strangers will actually smile at each other, maybe it`s a bit fake but it makes a nice change. There`s also loads of parties and everyones up for a few beers and some fun. The commercialisation side of it sucks a bit but fortunately i get to avoid all that, apart from all the adverts, christmas songs etc. I guess i also get to avoid the huge family get together/ arguments which a lot of people seem not to like about it. Missed the lack of atmosphere here arou
  2. AMF 159. Was asking Chris about it and he sorted me out a beautiful deal on a very slightly cosmetically damaged board. Can`t wait to try it out!
  3. We don`t celebrate Christmas or give each other presents then, so she doesn`t feel so left out.
  4. My little sister`s birthday is on christmas eve. But we`re jewish so it actually works out quite well for her!
  5. In the current israeli palestinian conflict there are no good men left, just differing degrees of badness. If his death means that people will be able to use it as an opportunity to start moving towards peace, then it will be a good thing. Here`s hoping.
  6. I`m just about to buy a snowboard from prior Shipping costs a bomb so was wondering if anyone else is also interested in buying a board (or t-shirts etc.) from them and we could cut down on our shipping costs.... Bit of a long shot....
  7. First big dump in the Alps! http://panpic2.feratel.at/panpic2/index.jsp?design=panpic&ID=5635&hori=off&adv=off Come on Japan
  8. Looking forward to Newcastle Chelsea, should be a stormer. What websites does everyone use to keep up with the football? The Guardian seems to be a big favourite and i`m quite partial to a bit of www.football365.com and obviously the chelsea site (which is mostly a load of crap to be honest). Another good one i just found is http://www.socceraudio.com/inglaterra.htm which has links to radio coverage of some premiership games.
  9. Just had this one passed on to me http://store.yahoo.co.jp/rodeomaster/index.html Has discounts of 35% on new `05 kit (Compares rather strangely with its discounts of 20% on new `04 kit....) Anyone know of any more?
  10. How about edge tuning, does anyone do that themselves? Want to try but the only tuners i can get are all in japanese and am a bit worried about getting the settings wrong.
  11. Robben`s going to become a superhero! Two goals in two games and both pretty good. The one on Wednesday was the best goal i`ve seen in ages
  12. Just found out about and watched this film. It`s absolutely great and the book`s supposed to be even better. If you`re into mountains or adventure in any way then it`s well worth getting hold of and watching.
  13. Just started trying to do it last season, so no expert. But i think the best thing to do is just to give it a go. Unless you really delibrately make an effort to you`re not going to destroy your board by waxing it badly, just effect its performance a little. There`s lots of good advice on the internet, just be prepared to make a lot of mess and for it to take a long time if you haven`t done it before. If you`re worried about melting the base, don`t. It will take a lot of heat, you can check by feeling the other side of the board as you wax - it should get warm but not hot
  14. These are the results from the poll after 75 votes: Skier 33% (25) Snowboarder 49% (37) Both 15% (11) Other 3% (2)

  16. Quote: Originally posted by scouser: I don't get that. What makes a team be so brilliant in the Premiership, and so average in the Chamspleague? Whats the reason? It is strange that profesional football teams many of whose players have a lot of experience playing in other leagues can be so inconsistant in the champions league. Maybe Arsenal are more of a confidence side than has been obvious. With their poor European run phasing them in the same way as their amazing premiership run has boosted them. Guess we`ll have to wait and see.... Some nice pictures on the Guardian we
  17. Swimming - sorry, doesn`t fit your not having to shell out for it criteria, but when you`re in the habbit of going it is AWESOME stress relief. Alternatively, going for a long secluded walk in countryside sorts me out. Or cycling way too fast through busy streets.
  18. So back to the football...... Arsenal`s inability to play football in Europe - an indication of their imminent collapse? Discuss
  19. ???? Any chance of a translation/explanation ???? Sorry - my Japanese is awful
