  1. Just wathcing Japan being quashed now on TV. Thought Kawaguchi had a shocker witht he 3rd goal, after great saves previous games it was a shame to see. Could have been a few more goals by the looks of things if Ronaldo had some legs on him, but the 4th goal he scored was pretty sweet. Heard on the news this morning that Japan aren`t such a great footballing nation due to the fact they are an "Agricultural country"!!!!!!
  2. anyone who has seen Gladitor knows for best results......apply maggots!! BBC maggot article
  3. plus wodges of cash for endorsements would think....Ronaldo and Slimfast for example could be a winner. Or Crouch and some kind of rickets medication!! Any body going to get up for the Japan game? Not sure if I can be bothered with it live.
  4. A lot of time spent down there at the moment and will be even more to come when I head down to Wakayama. (CB any more info on those spots down there?) Before that am off to BAli tomorrow!! Very impromptu but a three day hol surfing and lounging on the beach!
  5. a wins a win but what a shoddy game, due to my lack of sleep am feeling bit negative about it all!! Sooooo mnay chances not taken. Crouch was rubbish in the first half, his ganglyness seemed to get in the way, can`t believe he missed the sitter from Beckhams cross, unmarked (still think he needs a good dinner or two!). Something like 15 shots in the first half and nothing to show for it. Good points were Gerrard again doing his job well and Beckham with some top balls into the box, and thank god for Terry smashing the ball pretty much out the mouth of the posts. I guess we can take th
  6. Good luck mate, never managed to meet you but always enjoyed the read and the banter. Back home for the "green Ba*tard"!! Enjoy it.

Am predicting very unproductive morning tomorrow!! Hope its a better game for us, TandT manager was mouthing off about it being another N. Ireland type upset!
  8. Quote: Originally posted by scouser: Worth watching farquah? I wasn't able to last night.. Awsome game last night, some top phases of play and cracking goals. Spain pulled out the best showing of the WC so far. The last goal was a scorcher, after some great interchanging between the team, Shevchenko nver really threatened and a bit of a dodgy red card to Ukraine didn`t help, but Spain were by far the stronger team. Looking like real challengers. And the camera men did stirling jobs focusing on some stunners in the crowd all game!!! (worth watching just for that!)
  9. Watching the Spain V Ukraine game and can`t help but piss my pants everytime the commentator says Ukraine....sounds like someone from `brum or worse Dudley!!! Love it!
  10. was talking to a friend about this today, and she told me that apparently Uniqlo did/do the same thing, making their gear from recycled goods. Thought it was the complete opposite with those guys though, sweatshops and the like as Daver was talking about? Would definately pay a few extra yen for quality and a piece of mind.
  11. Haven`t bought any Patagonia products here myself, but how do they compare on price with others, is it more expensive?
  12. Didn`t know about this, but interesting and nice to know. Quote: In a world where large corporations can be dark destroyers, Patagonia shines as an example of the environmentally positive effect a big company can have. It is leading other corporations by example; continually greening itself while increasing profits. The company’s fleece jackets and shells are made from recycled PET bottles and car dashboards. They minimize use of toxic chemicals in leather tanning for shoes. All of their cotton is organically produced, and they are pioneering another new material that combines rec
  13. Enjoyed the TOgo Korea game, didn`t seem to be much structure to either team but was played at about 100mph (until the last ten or so when Korea gained the lead and kept the ball)! Start of second half was frantic, top korean free kick. Also some great fouls from Togo and one red card which Korea seemed to capitalise on, plus a fair few yellows on both teams. Seems that this year there have been a large amount of cards shown by the refs, more than usual?
  14. Good article. Its from the Guardian newspaper. Just watching the Korea Togo game. The Togo manager looks like some fellar they have pulled in from the street for the game, sat in jeans and a dodgy shirt with a bit of scrap paper!!
  15. Had a top night watching it amongst a load of blue fans here also. Actually, arrived at the venue intending to support Japan just to piss off a mate, but when the manager told us that if we are supporting OZ we cannot wear any Oz colours or cheer loudly for that team, I quite quickly changed my mind and deffered to supporting the outlaws!!! Needless to say we put on as much yreen and yellow (sorry Australian gold!) as we could find and shouted at every possible moment. up until the last 10 mins the Japanese fans loved the banter!! Then it was two versus the masses!!
  16. Trying to ween myself onto football the past few weeks watching a few games on sky. Getting quite excited about the whole WC and isn`t too long before it all kicks off. Should be better than the last WC for me as I was sat in a universtiy exam room for my finals during the majority of the tournament!!
  17. ....what can I say...any insect with more hair on their legs than me makes leaves weak at the knees! Plus I like to think I strip in a semi masculine way!
  18. Can just imagine a wise guy Gaijin who came across here all those years ago and piped up, "nice to meet you guys, oh and by the way did I tell you I am Jesus?!" Jesus sake then anyone?!
  19. Bobby, Japan has some really good diving spots, with some amazing marine life to be seen. It is a little expensive here on the down side though. Around Tokyo the best areas to dive are either the Izu Shoto, (Mikura Jima, Nii Jima, etc etc) and the Izu Hanto. Also there is some pretty good deep dives to be had around the south coast of Chiba. For something a little more further north I have done a rather chilly but really good dive off of Sado Island, near Nigatta. Am not too sure about the south however after this summer will be able to tell you a bit more. Apparently around Wakayama a
  20. Just sat at work at the computer when I felt someting fall on my head...put my hand up there to brush whatever it was off and knocked it down my open shirt collar, just as i realised it was a fair sized cockroach!! Now I don`t usually scream like a girl under normal circumstances but....I think I now hold the guiness world reccord for undressing my shirt in about 0.3 seconds!!! Can handle them when have to be captured crawling around the floor etc, but falling on your noggin then down your shirt was a different story!

Just had a dive yesterday morning in Tateyama (Chiba) was kind of working but saw some rays also while down there. Perk of the job is spending nearly all summer in the water and on the beach. Nothing like having a snorkel or dive over a reef or ledge. Its seriously a different world down there and still so much we don`t know.
  22. When I wear a suit I usually where them. Think it rounds off the outfit (he says trying not to sound too gay!), and can looks smart at a formal occasion. If I have a business meeting then they always out.
