Is that Perth, Scotland or Perth, Australia, Soubs?? Apparently cod liver oil is good for stiff joints. You can buy capsules so that you don't have to taste that awful liquid. My knees get so stiff, especially after football. I just know I'm gonna have knee trouble when I'm older, my grandad just had both his knees replaced, also due ( I think anyway) to the playing of lots of football. All that twisting and turning isn't good for them, especially not on the astroturf pitches that they play on here.

I remember the first time I came to Japan, there was some mystical zen message written in english on the milk carton!!! I think its FAF. I love reading all the flowery, nonsensical english that float around on various products -

i think what Briain and Australia have done in Iraq is pretty clever on their part. They are in on the act, and as others have pointed out, probably to share in some of the collateral gains, but its America who takes most of the heat. Its always "US forces", or the"US invasion", which I think is clever beacuse the UK and Aus can reap their perceived benefits of being on the winning team without taking as much flak for it. Don't get me wrong, the UK, as has recently been shown, is a hot target for extremists, but still not as much as the US. So its either that Blair and Howard are lap dogs of t -

Miller, Chile is made up of one of the highest mountain ranges in the world, the Andes!! They travel up the whole length of Chile and also straddle the border into argentina. Apparently some of the best skiing in the world, would love to go!! But need to get better so I can handle such a steep slope!!

whats it like to get a job up there?? I really fancy it in a couple of years, but dunno if there are the same working opportunities as there are down here. It would just be the usual English teaching nonsense, but like I say i really fancy Hokkaido -

Warmest June in 63 years

Its been hot enough down in Kanagawa. Today was the coolest it has been in June at 7.30 in the morning, 21C. Usually its about 25-26C at 7.30 in the morning. (I pass a giant digital display board of the temperature everyday going to work)Today wasn't humid, but yesterday was cloudy and humid as ****, not nice. Thankfully I have been able to ditch the monkey suit and wear shorts and t-shirt to work!! -

In the UK I've booked longer than 4 months, but anyway cheers for the advice, although it does seem conflicting, others are saying to book early as new year gets booked up REALLY early, dunno what to do....

Have you climbed Mt Fuji?
Tubby Beaver replied to nzlegend's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Fuji was visible from the beach at Enoshima last week, still quite a lot of snow on top like, I was surprised there was so much -
cheers. I'm not worried about not getting a flight, I know I7ll get one, what I was wondering was, would it be any cheaper to hold off and get a package deal, but of course, if its a busy as everyone says, I run the risk of having no accomodation if I wait until later in the year. I think I'm gonna book anyway, better to be safe than sorry. I've got 6 months to pay it off if it does turn out more expensive!!

You need to chill out!! In any other country you can book a flight up to a year in advance, and I'm quite aware that this is not Aus!! The query is valid since I don't want to be left hanging, I want to be in Niseko for New Year. Any other post reply has been hinting at the Aussie invasion that will book up accomodation quickly. I thought that was the whole point of message boards, where ppl could ask questions to people who are in the know. If you don't want to answer them then don't read the post! obviously I want it for as cheap as possible, so if a flight is cheaper than the shi

In respect to the previous post saying that accomodation gets booked up early, I have been getting quotes for accomodation and lift passes, doing it on my own and not through a travel agent, but I'm finding it impossible to get a quote for a flight to Sapporo just now, with the frustrating quirk of Japanese travel companies that you can't book a flight more than 4 months in advance!! So, would you think its best to wait until October and get a package deal (everything included) or do you think I would pay more that way as the cheaper accomodation will be booked up?

Yeah another FT and Thursday "Niseko is great, No its not" fight!!! -
The winter last year, we took my mate to Meribel in the 3 valleys in France and he didn't like it. He hardly boarded at all, it was only his 2nd time (the first being a wee trip up the mountains in scotland), but he hated the fact he couldn7t do it straight off thebat. He's pretty unfit though and a major quitter. I also took him mountain biking to Glentress in the Scottish borders and he quit after just making it up the access road!!!! It was steep as ****, but there was a car park there where we were gonna rest before actually heading out onto the trails. He just rested and then free wheeled

Yeah its interesting you say that. I'm not exactly that adventurous, not because I don't want to be boarding through waist deep powder through the trees and catching some air off of awesome jumps, its just that my ability level just now is quite low. I can go down the mountain picking some decent speed and doing some great turns but tricks etc are a bit above me right now, so maybe Furano would be up my alley
