extreme board wandering can most likely caused by a convexed base, where the edges are not in contact with the snow..and the base curves outward... maybe get your board;s base stone ground to flatten the base... then you'll glide flat and straight even with no edge pressure...

Actually Backside and frontside were used before there was even snowboarding.. In surfing it relates to how your facing the beach while riding a wave.. If you turn into the wave with your back to the beach its backside. If you turn so your facing the beach and the wave is behind you its frontside.. Or more easier: Regular- Spinning clockwise is backside and counterclockwise is frontside. Goofy- Spinning clockwise is frontside and counterclockwise hopefully turns into a backside 900 melon.
