Manda, I'm with you on the Garden State. The Shins are the shit. Oh, and not a bad movie either.

Yeah baby yeah! Floyd is in the house. Thanks for the simple easy to follow directions Tsondaboy. Yes, I would probably cast my vote with I'm Sexy.

It's so hard to classify anything nowadays anyway. I kinda like Electronica-punk-progressive-alternative-rock and Roll too.

Hiroshima Saturday

Back online! Actually Yamakashi, we went up to Osorokan(Hiroshima) yesterday and the snow was pretty decent. Ok not the powder we all dream of but they have about 150 cms of snow right now and even though the lifts are mostly 2-man (or woman) there was hardly any waiting done which surprised me as it was a Saturday. We had a mainly blue-sky, cheesey-grins-all-round day. Maybe because it was my first time at Osorokan but it seems as good as Mizuho (which is bigger). Think it has just become my favourite Nishi-Nippon ski-jyou. -
Warm ups
flipside replied to frannyo's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Doing the boots up is definately a warm up but I reckon the body needs a strech after sitting in the car for 5 hours (bus 8hours). Get into the yogic 'warrior pose' before sliding. Then the mountain is yours. I reckon you need to stretch after freezing up on the lift too. No worries about your groins going and keeping you from sliding the rest of the day. -

When going in for lunch....

Voidhawk - "Just curiously, what type of lock is best for your snowbaord ... anyone? (referring to the type you take out with you for lunch/toilet stops)" I'm quite happy with my handy little cable lock with snap lock and quick retract. Suremost brands would be good detterents. -

Naught, Nada, Zip, Nuttin', Zero, Nil. What the hell am I doing on this website?? Guess not much snow falls in Australia in summer. Soon to return though and hopefully not too late for some downhill action. Peace to you lucky buggers. -

I agree totally. Even if someone just thought they'd skip on rental costs for the day and 'temporarily' borrow yours. It would totally suck not to have anything to ride on when you're up on the mountain. I feel overprotective when locking up in Japan but am always aware that 1 to 2 percent of folk have a stronger devil than angel inside them. As for if it does get ganked, what are the options for gear insurance. Wonder if it's worth it? -

Is there a lot of work for people who want to hang out on the mountain and can speak quite good Japanese? Cause I'm really interested in going to NZ one day.
