Things seem to have calmed down considerably here - not many aftershocks now, and only small tremors when they do happen. Thank god for that. I'm trying to explain it all to folks back home, but its difficult when you have not experienced something like this. I've been trying - unsuccessfully - to find some vid clips of earthquakes on the internet to show people. But can't seem to find anything decent. Anyone able to help out.

That sounds great. Hope the girls turn up. They will if you grow that big daikon.

Saw Halloween: Resurrection last week. A real pile of crap that one is, number 8 in the series or something......

....."Building a safer world and a more hopeful america"..... Sounds nice and sincere to me. I'm sure he'll do his very best.

Last Friday I watched a tv movie called Pirates of Silicon Valley. It's about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, and the beginning of Apple and Microsoft. I found it really interesting, not sure exactly how much it goes off the "real story" if at all. It was an interesting watch though, never heard about it until a buddy gave me a vid. More info on it here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0168122/

I had a good old chinwag with Yuki's Passion, danz and a few other people who popped in and out for a bit (frannyo, akibun) just before this afternoon. I like it. -
Bored at work? Volleyball anyone?

Thats way too difficult for me. I think I'll stick with Pacman. -
Pretty much useless from the earthquake time until yesterday evening for me. Useful when working though, of course.

Another thing, dark nighttime is way more kowai than daytime. I want to sleep, but I can't. I would just freak if something like that woke me up.

Nothing really, just some dubious looking cracks in the wall outside and a fragile heart. IT's these regular aftershocks thart are really really troubling

Well I have the experience now I'm sorry to say. How did I feel? Similar to what has been said above, I was like frozen to the spot just hanging on to the freezer unable to move. It seemed to go on forever, but it was 15 seconds or so. Well the first one anyway.

Don't come here. Please. We're tired and fed up with it all.

I cant speak for Yuzawa and sanjo, but there are still aftershocks going on here quite regularly. It doesn't seem to want to quit. sanjo, I hope you can get back to your place ok and find it to be ok. That was ****ing shit scary, I'll tell ya. I thought I bus had crashed into the side of my house with that first bang

I can drink it, but its certainly not one I would go out and choose.

If I'm right, they only run it for limited times during summer and fall, and it was only built about 2 years ago.

Lots in Nagoya then? I suppose in most big cities. Do they actually go IN the station though? In Niigata, they're right in the main hallway bridge thing in the station its pretty blatant.

It's still got a long way to go to get rid of its appeal from where I'm looking at it. Lets go karaoke, the dreaded suggestion after a party. Oh shit, not karaoke again.

Not all of them. Some of them just like the dramas. That seems fair enough to me.

I was in the Naeba area yesterday and today and went up the Dragondola. Nice timing, good colors up there right now. They even had a small pile of snow up top
