  1. Hi sunrise, Thanks for the message. I'll be there. Probably some girlfriends from work or bike club want to go. I'll let you know how many tickets I want later. Cheers
  2. No tour for me. I don't think I can do it with my weak knee. When I ride outside Tokyo like Oshima or Miura, I take my bike on the ferry or train. I have a nice road bike but I'm not a serious cyclist, just enjoy bike and beer or beer and bike.
  3. Ah, you are mamachari rider. Did you ride your mamachari from Aizu to Sado?! You are crazy!
  4. haha yes, I went for Arakawa ride yesterday. I haven't biked longer than 40km for more than two months because of my left knee. But I felt my knee was getting better and decided to go. It was about 70km from my place, now I know about 50-60km is my limit. Have you ridden with us before?
  5. It's celery season now! Do people usually eat celery leaves? I made very easy pasta sauce tonight and it was very good. Bacon, celery leaves, spinach, tomato, salt and black pepper. yummy~.
  6. Look look, pros also use this. I have been really sad everytime I have pain on my left knee but I want pink tapes for my knee now.
  7. Is this popular outside Japan, too? http://www.kinesiotaping.com/default.asp...nesiotaping.com I hurt my knee again yesterday after 70km bicycle ride and couldn't walk up and down the stairs. My mom gave me Kinesio tape and an instruction book and I tried it after bath last night. This works very well. My knee is much better today. The instruction book says this taping works for not only sports injury but also hangover, stuffy nose... interesting isn't it?
  8. no, no. I don't need a car in Tokyo but want a car when I go to Hakuba. I'm thinking of renting a car near my place and share with some people, I know sockmonkey and snowconnection are my neighbors. By the way, I just entered this. The deadline is Sunday 19th. https://www.mt6.jp/mailform/form.html I hope more snow coming soon.
  9. Markie, it depends on the snow. If Hakuba gets enough snow by Christmas, I might get there with some friends(two more girls! ) or by myself. Sunrise, I haven't decided yet but probably going to Kagura on 9,10th December. I want to ask sock-monkey and snowconnection what their winter schedule like, I'm thinking of driving to Hakuba this winter.
  10. OK. Good idea. I just started working on my winter schedule, I'll try to get there more often than last year.
  11. I want to babysit but then I cannot ski with Phatluv... You stay home and we go skiing, no?
  12. I feel sorry for those parents who lost their kids. I lost two male friends in my neighborhood 5years ago. I was so shocked by these and depressed for long time. We grew up in a same town and I believed we had good community there, but I realized our community was useless. Nobody could help them. Parents lost their sons but still they have to live their life, they look ok now but it must be really tough life. I hope you are ok CB, your students need good care.
  13. Subaru Legacy 4WD is much safer in the mountains or snowy road, Legacy has very powerful and reliable four-wheel ABS disc brakes!
  14. We could buy Royce chocolate only in Hokkaido 10years ago but I can find it anywhere in Tokyo now. I like shopping at Chitose airport and find new omiyage. It's so much fun.
  15. Nozawa fire festival is always 15th January. It's native festival and for the local people. They don't need to change the date for tourists and they won't change, that's why it's worth going to see it.
  16. It is very clear beautiful sky here. I could see mountains in the west on the train this morning and Fujisan was beautiful just as I expected.
  17. I am very sure that the air is getting drier here. I have static hair since yesterday.
  18. I have been to Kawaba twice before, but never thought that the snow there was good. Maybe I wasn't lucky. Fattwins, is Tenjindaira better? Tenjindaira is the deepest snow resort in that area, right? I've heard Tanigawadake is very difficult mountain.
  19. Toque, I'm very curious... Quote: Originally posted by Toque: My weekend , did some stuff , some stuff?? What is "Black Forest cake"? Is it a kind of chocolate cake?? Is it good with beer???
  20. Omedeto, Jane! Something wrong happened? I'm glad to hear you and baby are fine. You are the first mom here.
